Party Scene: Although parties are not the only way to have "fun" at the university, they are often the most popular. Even if a student does not drink, they are able to enjoy themselves danced and laughing with their friends. Downtown is often very popular on weekends when there aren't parties or after them.

Health & Safety: I have never really felt threatened or scared on campus. Although police are not visible or constantly around, students tend to have a general respect for each other.

Off-Campus Dining: I love getting to go off campus for meals. There are so many different places to choose from and it's like a little treat from dining hall food.

Athletics: Student's get really into the sports. Although football is the favorite, students also go to gymnastics meets and basketball games. There are various spirit groups for the sports and students feels a lot of school pride.

Local Area: I absolutely love Athens. It's amazing.

Administration: They seem fair, and I understand them.

Athletics: Football is life. Everything in the Fall revolves around it. If you aren't a UGA fan coming in, you will be when you leave.

Scholarships: I wish it was easier to understand.

Party Scene: For people who like to party, it's amazing. I'm personally not a big fan, but I'm fine with that. There are plenty of things for me to do as well.

Overall Experience: The value of a degree from UGA (specifically certain programs) carries a lot of weight and merit. The South is full of a huge network of UGA alums, which is very helpful in finding a job. Career services are wonderful and there are several career fairs held throughout the year.

Off-Campus Housing: I personally love where I have lived for the last three years. It is a quieter community and not like the "glorified dorms" that many of the apartment complexes are. It's affordable, nice, and I only have to have one roommate instead of three.

Athletics: Sports rule at UGA, especially during football season. If you don't come in to UGA as a Dawg fan, you will definitely leave as one.

Local Area: ATHENS IS THE BEST. An absolutely perfect college town. I cannot say enough good things about getting to live and attend school here.

Administration: Concerned more about grades and classes than with students personal lives.

Campus Housing: Campus housing is good but not great. It gets the job done and provides a solid place to live. Quality typically has an inverse relationship with the social atmosphere. The nicer the dorms, the quieter and less fun they are. The older and larger, the more people, and the more fun.

Off-Campus Housing: There are a ton of options for off-campus housing, both in student-oriented apartment complexes and neighborhood houses. Some of the apartment complexes are more like resorts than apartments in terms of amenities, but some are very normal or low end. There's a place to live for everyone.

Party Scene: There's a reason UGA is regarded as such a big party school- Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights are an endless plethora of options for those who want to go out. Fraternity parties are often open for girls and guest list for guys, but because of the vast number of people who live off campus but close to everything, there are always some good house parties. But both of those options are much less popular than the bars downtown. Downtown Athens is hands down the best scene in the south, and the diversity of people who enjoy the bar scene is amazing. You do not have to be affiliated with any club, group, or Greek house to go downtown and have fun: everyone and anyone can go and have a great time. It's almost impossible to describe downtown athens to those who haven't experienced it yet, but there's no question: it's life changing.

Off-Campus Dining: Downtown Athens is made almost exclusively of restaurants and bars- there is always something new to try and a new place to go. There's a really good variety of options, and it's only steps off of campus.

Administration: UGA is all about the total college experience. Administrators are more concerned with academic progress than with worrying about students having fun on the weekends, as it should be.

Majors: Extremely easy to get an internship within certain programs at UGA. Terry students are heavily recruited by fortune 500 and regional companies.

Health & Safety: UGA PD is very vigilant at UGA. I have never once had a second thought about my safety on campus or downtown.

Campus Housing: Off campus housing is the better bet here. Housing is attempting to update their buildings, but the cost of living on campus is much higher than living off campus.

Greek Life: The great part about UGA is that it has a thriving Greek scene, but nobody cares whether you are a part of it or not. There is something for everyone here.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
