Campus Food: I love the atmosphere and the social aspect of it. Unlimited is so so nice, but it is very expensive. There also aren't many healthy options.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: You cannot beat the social aspect of the high rises, but they are old, small and very run down.

Off-Campus Housing: Great if you look in the right places

Campus Housing: Depending on the housing option you choose, you can have great and new housing versus very old, dingy, and tiny housing.

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of great places to choose from that stay open late.

Party Scene: I don't really party, so I wouldn't know.

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus.

Athletics: I LOVE MY DAWGS! I could not picture going anywhere else in the country to watch any athletic events. We have some of the top facilities, fans, involvement, fan support, and school spirit in the country. Athletics are a centerpiece in campus life as well as the overall life of a Georgia Bulldog!

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I don't live on campus. I am a commuting student that still lives at home with my parents because I can't afford to live on or around campus. I also work far away from campus so it would cause financial stress on me.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I prefer off-campus dining. Many popular lunch spots that are affordable are usually within a short or reasonable driving distance.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: Campus police is very reliable and straightforward. They are easily accessible and friendly

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I don't have any tips to offer, but the financial aid process at UGA is fairly straightforward with a few hiccups here and there.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I'm not a big partier, but most of my friends recommend bars and downtown or house parties.

Campus Food: Bolton and Joe Frank Commons are the best in my opinion when it comes to campus eatery. These 2 dining halls are clean, well-maintained, the service is great, and I don't ever have to worry about finding something that I like to eat. I've never eaten at OHouse, but I've heard nothing but bad reviews about it. Snelling is too dark, too cramped, and offers less of a variety than Joe Frank and Bolton. I've only eaten at the Niche once and it was great. The food was delicious, the service was top notch, and the workers were very friendly.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I have never lived on campus at the University of Georgia. However, if I was blessed with this scholarship, then it would help me pay my fees in order to live on campus, or would be used to contribute to my overall expenses.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing can be relatively cheap, but your safety might be compromised. Most of them are fairly distant (the closer to campus, the more the cost) from campus and even though buses run on these routes, they are not reliable. It is advisable to have your own means of transport if you decide to live off-campus--buses run about every 30 minutes on these routes.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I do not purchase food off-campus often, but the ones I did purchase were good. What I like most about off-campus dining is their proximity to campus. They are all almost within walking distance. They also provide services late-night, giving you the option to grab a quick midnight snack after studying for that test. Papa John's pizza, Five Guys Burger, and Starbucks are a few places you should definitely visit while at UGA.

4 College Freshman

Administration: UGA is extremely strict about its academic honor code. Things like cheating and plagiarism are not taken lightly and in some cases can lead to expulsion.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid office is straight forward in their dealings with students. They give precise instructions on what to do before, during and after you receive a financial aid package. The best part is the regular email reminders that alert you of any changes that has been made to your student account. The waiting time (on the phone especially) is the worst part about it. This is mostly due to the large population of students it has to respond to.

College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't party so I can't give an accurate description of a party scene. But according to my friends who party, party scenes are entertaining. People dance in groups or individually, there is food galore and usually alcoholic drinks for people 21+ years old.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
