4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I loved living in my shoebox freshman year. The community that follows dorm-life helped me make all kinds of friends that I would not get the opportunity to otherwise. The buildings can be a little outdated, but the important parts, like bathrooms and elevators are fine in terms of efficiency and space. There are many types of dorms in many different price ranges, allowing students to find a place that fits their needs and wants.

Greek Life: Like I mentioned earlier, this school has a place for everyone, and for many, that place to call home is found within greek life. Our school is not majority greek and even those greek people are a part of many other activities like organizations.

Athletics: Being a part of the SEC places much of our attention to football. Not only do we take pride in our football players hard work, but also we recognize other sports as important. The support the fans give all the sports teams is not limited to only football. You will find a crowd at almost every sporting event there is on campus, including club and intramural teams.

Overall Experience: What make the University of Georgia so unique is the people that fill it. Between the professors, students and other staff members everyone is a dawg. Being special doesn't make us dawgs, but being a dawg makes each one of us special in our own way. Here at UGA, everyone has a place to call home. Whether it's in the drama production department, Mock Trial team, sports, underwater basket weaving club or greek life activities, there is something for everyone.

Health & Safety: The school is located where downtown Athens is at. A mixed variety of people go the the bars downtown, and unfortunately a group of guys from another city decided to jump me which was a horrible experience.

Greek Life: I have had the opportunity to hand out with a couple different fraternities and so far have been some awesome group of guys, but there are those who are somewhat stuck up.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The university is not as diverse as I wish it could be, but overall everyone is nice and I am comfortable.

Athletics: The athletics at UGA are a big part of the community, especially during football season. There were some adjustments made to the team, including a new head coach and some new players which I believe would help improve the overall team.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I have had a wide variety of professors, but they take student reviews and course evaluations very seriously and have made changes with professors that show disinterest or little teaching aptitude.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: Companies that I have interviewed with in the region would likely agree that a UGA degree is among the most valuable in the Southeast.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: I am a guy, so I always feel safe, but there are definitely some concerns with busy parts of campus not being well lit at night.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: I definitely wouldn't have wanted to live in the dorms for more than a year, but I thoroughly enjoyed that year.

5 College Senior

Greek Life: Greek life is a great way to get/stay connected with people and I have never witnessed anything but good feelings between greeks and non-greeks.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: I am about to graduate and have made some of the best friends imaginable, while being provided with a great platform to launch my career. I was able to land a job that is competitive with ivy league schools and felt very prepared to do so.

5 College Senior

Athletics: Football is huge here, and the basketball team is gaining a solid fan base as well. Womens' gymnastics, swimming, and tennis all have massive followings too.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I love the University of Georgia.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I am confident that I will have a job after graduation and that a degree from UGA is valued by employers.

Health & Safety: UGA is as safe as can be. Random incidents happen, but being mindful goes a long way towards avoiding problems.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I love attending UGA. There are times when the campus feels to big (getting from class to class) or there are too many students (riding the Orbit bus) or the fees are too high, but I can't imagine a better experience anywhere else.

5 College Junior

Athletics: If you don't go to a Georgia Bulldogs home game at least once (preferably vs. an SEC opponent), then you have missed a key UGA experience.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Sexual assault is a serious problem everywhere, in general, and in all cases, no matter how often or how it happens.

Campus Housing: Campus housing is just as you would expect it to be. There are some nicer options but usually it is the typical dorm.

Greek Life: Greek life is a huge part of campus. However, you do not have to be part of it to fit in. UGA is so big so there is something for everyone.

One of the most amazing things about students at UGA is that I have never heard one person say they don't like being here. UGA and Athens have so much to offer in so many different categories, that there really is something for everyone. The positive energy of 30,000 people who are happy to be here is captivating, and something you will instantly want to be a part of. It will not take long before you regard Athens as your second home, and after about a week, most students forget how big a school it is.

It's exciting to be in Athens because there is always something going on, whether it is entertainment, a demonstration, job fairs, or just a chance to hang out with people you just met who are now your best friends. Students are encouraged to explore their talents and make the most of their four years here, and most students are able to achieve their ultimate "college experience." Sometimes, it seems like we are all characters in some cheesy teen movie because college life in Athens is so classic, but academically, socially, and personally, this school seems to have changed most of us for the better.
