2 College Junior

Scholarships: It's really hard to get a concrete answer because different staff will tell you different things about your aid.

Technology: I really like the UF app system that allows you to access their apps anywhere you go. The only problem is that the system is really slow and one can get unmotivated from just waiting.

3 College Junior

Academics: Some professors are very passionate about what they studied and lecture with a lot of charisma.

Party Scene: There are lots of bars and clubs for party people to go to, especially after the games. Cover is pretty decent as well. Also, don't be 18 and think you can drink at the club, because security will prevent that from happening.

Technology: There are a number of computer labs on campus were you can get work done. All computers have the latest software and we have PCs and Macs to fit students' needs.

Administration: They are very strict with drinking and smoking on campus for underage students, and smoking is not permitted at all.

Local Area: I enjoy the food, parks, and the small town feel.

Majors: My major is very broad, International Studies and I am concerned about finding a job afterwards.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The University is very selective, and I was lucky to have been selected. I think diversity is a big forte.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: I haven't had any problems.

Academics: Some things are more complicated then they have to be; it can be discouraging some times.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Sometimes it is quicker to walk because the buses are spread far apart and traffic is bad.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I enjoy living off campus. It gives me more freedom.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Campus police are very visible on campus.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Almost everything revolves around the sport that is in season.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Most people take part but I have never been shunned for not taking part.

3 College Junior

Technology: I only have a problem with the wireless internet when I am doing something important like a test that is timed, then I get kicked off and lose 10 minutes of the time to take my test.

2 College Junior

Local Area: I am not particularly crazy about towns or big cities, especially ones with traffic problems.

3 College Junior

Majors: I was told how great the program was while enrolling, then when I get to introductory to the major I get the truth of what it is all about. I don't have desire to do any other major I just feel that it is overcomplicated.

3 College Junior

Majors: I don't enjoy it as much I thought I would. I spend a lot of time stressed out. There are some quirks of our major that I a not a fan of.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
