4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I really love my school. The professors are great. The dorms provide a comfortable living style. There are plenty of great resources including advisers, gyms, libraries. And there is great accessibility withing and around campus.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I'm still navigating my career path, but I know that whatever I choose, the university is going to be more than helpful in supporting me in order to reach my goals.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: We have emergency buttons place around the school and campus cops are always around at night.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: My dorm like was really great this year. I stayed in Buckman, which was recently renovated and so was very nice and the halls only had 8 girls on a floor. Everyone was super nice and respectful.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I honestly am not a part of greek life on campus. However, from friends that are a part of sorority, I have heard mixed reviews: some love it, others feel like the time commitment takes them away from their studies.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The support our athletes receive at our school is both genuine and wide-spread. We have great athletic facilities that prove beneficial for the athletes at our school.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: After completing my first year at the University of Florida, I would say my experience has been a well-rounded one. I had the chance to learn form first-rate professors. Ichallenged myself to get to know my professors and through that I have been fortunate to engage in great conversations and I even landed a great opportunity to help a professor produce his podcast for the upcoming semester. The best part about the school is the chance to meet amazing people that are my age, who are following their dreams. I wouldn't choose another school for the simple fact that not only do I feel at home in Gator Nation but I'm also constantly challenged to grow.

Health & Safety: We have those 911 emergency buttons all over campus, when we had an attempted serial rapist at large students and the powers that be worked together to make the place safer. The trees were ribboned with awareness banners, a walking buddy system was put in place, and the school literally cut down every shrub the rapist could hide behind. There is a night taxi thing for free. Oh and we get text and email alerts when crime occurs.

Overall Experience: Alumni network is top notch for my program, but also seems quite strong for the school as a whole. My final ceramics class included largely a professional practice portion that was very very helpful.

Campus Housing: I don't really know. I think there is a good variety of old and new, modern and traditional.

Overall Experience: Speaking for the college of fine arts, ceramics in particular, the school very much impressed me with a well-rounded education from professors and grad students with a broad background of experiences and education. The thoroughness and variety of classes was evident throughout my education, but I didn't realize how lucky I was until I graduated. I am so lucky to be a Florida Alum because I feel part of a very close-knit society of support. I get emails about job opportunities daily, and I have a pool of resources for both questions and references.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I feel that earning a degree here will definitely give you an advantage over other simply because of the name.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel UFL has implemented many new programs to try reduce and/or eliminate sexual assault incidences that occur on campus.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Being in the sociology degree programs I know there are many opportunities internship opportunities, jobs and work study programs.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: I believe Greek students are viewed by non-Greeks as just the same. Working individuals doing all they can to better our society.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Although I am a distance learner, I have seen many bumper stickers representing UFL and it's sports teams from Miami to Jacksonville.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I would definitely choose University of Florida. UFL builds a good online environment for student whom are distance leaner. The curriculum is easy to follow and straightforward with no surprises.

Overall Experience: The University has everything to offer. Whatever interests you, you can get involved no problem.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There are many places you can go to get help. With programs like Gator Well and the University Police Dept. you should never feel alone. Just remember to make smart decisions, because you are an adult now and will be held responsible for your actions.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have no complaints about the university. Although diversity is lacking and Greeks pretty much run everything, the school is great. There are a wide variety of opportunities available for those who look for them and the entire Gator Nation is welcoming. The Gainesville community is growing with new construction. There are plenty of places to eat and party, and even a small mall to grab something to wear.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The Gator Nation is strong. People who attended this institution and even those who didn't all admire and respect an earned degree from this university. the value of this degree will take you further than you realize!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I've been living in Lakeside for about two years now, it's fine I guess. Rooms are small, but it is apartment style so there is a kitchen and private bathroom within your apartment. The prices are on the more expensive side but isn't all campus housing overpriced?

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is not for everybody and that's okay. UF Greeks are doing their best to become more diverse, but it is still a work in progress.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The past few years Gator athletics have somewhat fallen off the mark in regards to football and basketball, however both programs are quickly on the rise. There are over 50 intermural sports for non-athletes to choose from that are just as competitive as the others. Let's just say Florida and sports go together like ice cream and cake!

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The University of Florida is the greatest public university in the south! With constant research being developed, a football dynasty on the rise, and the sea of extracurricular activities, there is no place I would rather be.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
