Overall Experience: As someone who has changed their major an OBSCENE amount of times, I can attest to the huge amount of variety at this school in terms of classes. I loved every professor I've had - so passionate and engaging. There are online classes You're going to have lecture hall classes but they aren't too bad, and they come with discussion sessions that really help. With a school as big as this one, you're going to find huge variety so research classes and teachers before registration.

Overall Experience: We're a huge school, and thus we have a massive alumni network. There are career fairs all the time where you can meet with recruiters and sometimes get hired right on the spot (happened to a friend). All of my friends who graduated were able to find jobs (yes even a geology major and a drama major).

Campus Housing: I lived in Hume Hall, which was a dorm with two beds, a sink and a closet to share, and a bathroom that is shared with the neighboring room (no communal bathrooms yesss). They have a crew that comes in and cleans once a week so the facilities are really clean. I really liked Hume. Some dorms to be noted:

Graham, Simpson, Trussler are all near tennis courts, a large field + concert area a mini grocery/convenience store, and a swimming pool.

Lakeside is far from campus but it's a nice area. You get your own room in an apartment with three other roommates and two bathrooms. There is also a kitchen and a living room area.

Beaty is a 14 foot tall apartment style building. Fire alarms = going down 11 flights of stairs. They're pretty cozy though and close to Chick-Fil-A.

Keys and Springs are similar to Lakeside but a bit larger, except usually reserved for upper class men.

Murphree area halls are older and closer to the nightlife but old and some without air conditioning.

Cypress and Infinity are new dorms. I don't know much about them except they look really nice.

The others are your run of the mill basic dorm + communal bathroom.

Greek Life: I'm not involved and no one has made a big deal about that. But if you're a guy and want to go to parties, your best bet is joining a frat.

Athletics: TO BE. A FLORIDA GATOR.

We probably have one of the most energetic and passionate fan bases of all of college football. The other sports, however, sometimes get overlooked.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I simply adore the school. There is something for everyone and it is an all around incredible community of friendly people. There is a large amount of people in attendance from a variety of different backgrounds so you do have to work hard to stand out and carve out your niche. Greek life is huge but you aren't discriminated against if you aren't a part of it. However, student government and a myriad of other organizations are dominated by Greek life. Dorms are pretty hit or miss but that applies to all of them. The professors here are passionate and engaging. I would choose UF again if I had to.

Health & Safety: There are many resources on campus that look to improve student health.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The classes are all high quality with vibrant professors. It is very challenging and you have to do a good amount of studying.

Overall Experience: I have heard of many people that have gotten an engineering job right of Florida. I am fairly confident I can do the same.

Campus Housing: I lived on campus my first year. It is a great experience to have but I would not do it again. It was cramped, there is no space, and you can get really unlucky with a weird room mate. But it is convenient how close it is to classes.

Greek Life: I joined Greek life the second semester of my first year and it has been pretty great. I have been opened up to many opportunities I would have not had otherwise.

Athletics: Everyone is always excited about the games (especially football).

Overall Experience: All of the teachers are very engaging and love what they do. I have taken classes at both community college and the University of Florida and I would choose UF 10 out of 10 times. It is a fantastic school.

Overall Experience: Their online program allows me to work part time.

Overall Experience: I really love UF. My experience so far has been great because of all the people I've met through my sorority. I think that to really enjoy your time at UF you should live nearby so that you're fully immersed. I wasn't able to reserve a dorm room on time but I lived at Windsor Hall instead, which is practically across the street from my sorority house. I've been able to attend many events on campus because I live nearby and I have a scooter. I'd recommend attending the University of Florida to anyone, and I'd especially recommend living close to campus!

Overall Experience: I love being a part of something greater, and that's what it is to be a Florida Gator.

There's a ton of diversity on campus and everyone practices their right to freedom of speech. I love being able to experience cultures different from my own on a daily basis. We are a giant, orange and blue family here and I love it!

Overall Experience: The University of Florida has offered a great experience for me. There is so much going on here that it first it all felt hectic, but after a few months I was able to find my niche and call it "home." Students are filled with school spirit, and the wide array of sports from water polo to underwater hockey to football to fending offer an exciting experience for students of all athletic levels. The classes are challenging but hardly unreasonable, and the opportunities to conduct undergraduate research are endless. Pursuing extracurricular activities is highly encouraged, and students and faculty members are very welcoming and genuinely care about their students.

Overall Experience: The University of Florida is an amazing school and I love to be there. Some favorite experiences are the football games, free concerts, homecoming concert, and Gatornights. UF unique because its large amount of students and the variety of people attending. Also there is always so much going on from tailgating to club activities to tabling in the courtyard to free movies and concerts. I discovered marine science here and I am greatly passionate about it and cant wait to study more and more about it here. I think its the best school to go to.

The academic atmosphere is wonderful, I've been taking some interesting classes, and I love the extracurricular activities I've had access too. Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
