4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: We have a career center but many people don't go. A degree from here is very valuable.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Some of the dorms are nice and close to campus but there are plenty of dorms that require a bus ride to get to campus and all the apartment style dorms are small and out of date.

Greek Life: All of our Greek life is all about parties and night life.

Athletics: Sports are great here but I am not a sports person so it doesn't effect me.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love my school but there are systems are are not designed for the best interest of the students. Many of the general education classes are setting students up for failure. Also the required Freshman class, "What Is The Good Life" is pointless and I could spend my time better twiddling my thumbs.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The safety and security are great and feel safe.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It has been a great experience with faculty.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: An education from UF will help to get a job.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Great atmosphere to be in.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Great add to the environment of the campus.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Athletics provide great teamwork exercises to use.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have had a great experience so far.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The PaCE program is a great way for students to come to school. The online courses are great and I have learned a lot in my freshman year of college. The professors have been available if we need help and email the students a good amount. While doing online courses we are open to many school clubs and organizations as well.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus but the campus has a good atmosphere.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I am not around Greek life, so I do not have much to say on this topic. I have never been treated rudely by a Greek student though.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Our school spirit is the best, as soon as you step on campus it will be known that if you aren't a gator, then your gator bait. In a friendly way though. The performance teams are amazing as well.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I am enjoying my time as a Freshman at the University of Florida. I feel very accepted as there are many things to get involved in. Go Gators!

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Some I've really connected with and some are just there.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Certain programs are more 'job secure' (like the business school) than others (like visual/ performance arts).

2 College Senior

Health & Safety: As a student registered with the Disability Resource Center, I experience the large number of hoops to receive accommodations and have them recognized by instructors. Not nearly enough is being done about predatory men!

2 College Senior

Campus Housing: I had a crowded housing situation and didn't really find a community outside of my roommates. Seemed hit or miss.

1 College Senior

Greek Life: The people in it love it, but as someone who never had interest in joining, it continues to seem overrated at best and potentially dangerous/threatening at worst.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: I've enjoyed the content of most of my courses but it's hard not to feel like just a number on campus because there's 50000+ students.

3 College Senior

Athletics: I don't really care for sport watching but many others seem to enjoy it.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
