4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I really love UF. So far, I've enjoyed all the classes I've taken and the activities I've participated in. The professors are very helpful and the community is great.

Overall Experience: UF is the best public university in Florida. It's also a huge research school. I've had friends that have gone to additional schooling after UF and UF is looked at highly.

Campus Housing: The best part about living on campus is the proximity to classes and libraries. The dorms aren't very spacious though, which is a big drawback for me. I'm also weirded out by communal bathrooms.

Greek Life: There aren't a lot of multicultural Greek life options. Most of the Greek life on campus is heteronormative and White. They tend to be snobby and cliquey and they party a lot. I'm not very interested in getting involved with the Greek community.

Athletics: I think UF's students hold a lot of school spirit. Our facilities are awesome! There are various types of activities to choose from and plenty of open space for practices and team sports.

Overall Experience: What I love most about UF is my community of friends and the campus. The campus is very beautiful. It looks like everything I've ever dreamed of.

Health & Safety: Safety measures here are good. There is lit streets, night transportation and officers patrolling at night. However across the street from campus is a strip of bars and many assaults happen there.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The classes and class varieties are great but there are too many professors who are in it for their research and are not great at teaching. Ever teacher however is an expert in their field and enthusiastic at their field.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: We have a career center but many people don't go. A degree from here is very valuable.

Campus Housing: Some of the dorms are nice and close to campus but there are plenty of dorms that require a bus ride to get to campus and all the apartment style dorms are small and out of date.

Greek Life: All of our Greek life is all about parties and night life.

Athletics: Sports are great here but I am not a sports person so it doesn't effect me.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love my school but there are systems are are not designed for the best interest of the students. Many of the general education classes are setting students up for failure. Also the required Freshman class, "What Is The Good Life" is pointless and I could spend my time better twiddling my thumbs.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The safety and security are great and feel safe.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It has been a great experience with faculty.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: An education from UF will help to get a job.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Great atmosphere to be in.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Great add to the environment of the campus.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Athletics provide great teamwork exercises to use.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have had a great experience so far.

Some schools have certain advantages over others. Small schools give a feeling of community; large schools have lots of resources; private schools are ripe for close academic relationships with faculty; and state schools offer a good value. Well, UF is not your typical state school, and Gainesville is certainly not your stereotypical small town. Because this place is so big, it has all of the libraries, dorms, athletics, courses, clubs, and services you could want at a good price. But if you put forth just a little effort, you’ll find that the University also has more compassionate, down-to-earth professors, locals, and students that any small, private school could ever dream of having.

The best thing about going to a school like UF is that whatever you want to accomplish in life, it is probably obtainable through going to this school. You will never have to worry about not fitting in with anyone because the campus is a huge melting pot. Students are never bored on campus because there is literally always something to do with friends both on or off campus. And who wouldn't want to go to a school where the immense amount of school pride is literally unexplainable? It sure is great to be a Florida Gator.
