2 College Freshman

Weather: It can change by 20 degrees in an hour. It's completely unpredictable and surprisingly cold in the winter.

3 College Freshman

Weather: The winter this year was very rough. It snowed a lot and was very cold. It was no fun to walk to classes during those days (especially those that were a far walk from the dorm), but you have no choice. As long as you have rain boots and an umbrella, the walk to class those days is bearable. On nice, warm, sunny days, the walk to class is magnificent. I don't want to get to class because it is so nice outside!

2 College Sophomore

Weather: When it rains, getting to and from buildings across campus is a challenge. By the time I get to class, I am completely soaked and it takes the whole class period for my clothes to dry off. In addition, it is very easy to get splashed by puddles of water when you're walking on the sidewalk when a car drives by.

4 College Junior

Weather: Delaware is in the perfect location because we get to experience all four seasons. Temperatures range from freezing to 85 degrees in the summer.

Unpredictable is the best way to describe the weather conditions here. While the normal weather activities include hot, humid summers and mild winters with hardly any transition, Mother Nature likes to mix things up when you least expect it. There can be severe blizzards in winter or cold torrential downpours during summer. It is best to be prepared for all temperatures, as the weather is never set.

Most students don't mind the weather much, as winter tends to be mild. It makes it much easier to get to class when the sidewalks are clear of slush and snow. The spring months in Newark are gorgeous. Students can be found outdoors all over the campus enjoying the warm weather. Sunbathing doubles for study time on particularly nice days. While the weather can fluctuate drastically from day to day, there are some days when the weather is perfect—days you will be glad you were here to enjoy.
