3 College Junior

Administration: The administration enforces some of the rules, depending the day.

3 College Freshman

Administration: I think at least from my experience with RA's, it was very hit or miss. I specifically had an extremely strict RA, but there were many who were very lenient.

3 College Freshman

Administration: The campus police can be real buzzkills. They just want to suck the fun out of everything, or so it seems.

5 College Freshman

Administration: I would say there aren't too many complaints when it comes to the strictness of the administration. Obviously, there are rules about alcohol in dorms, especially freshman dorms, but it happens and as long is nothing is seen or heard, you can't really get in trouble. When it comes to noise in the dorms we have quiet hours that being at midnight on weekends. It isn't really enforced that strictly unless you are being excessively loud. Otherwise, its a courtesy thing.

Over the years, UD has become more involved in its students' recreational activities. They have been awarded numerous grants for the prevention of underage drinking, and they seem to be a bit obsessed at times. If you are smart and careful, you should get along just fine, but alcohol does tend to dull your inhibitions, leading to displays of drunkenness. This can possibly result in a strike and alcohol responsibility classes, or even arrest and expulsion.

There have been complaints that UD Police are so worried about catching underage drinkers that they aren't actually protecting students. UD's main goal with all of these policies is to show students that this school is no longer a party school and they won't tolerate anything that will tarnish their new, serious image. Breaking the rules can have serious consequences, but most people find that if you are responsible and use a little bit of common sense, you can have fun and avoid getting in trouble.
