Campus Housing: Freshmen dorms are great. They really try to foster a strong sense of community.

Greek Life: Coming from a girl, it's super easy to get into any frat party. But coming from a girl who has a lot of guy friends...if a guy isn't in a frat and doesn't know someone in a frat...they won't be part of the party scene.

Athletics: People partake in sports, but people don't really make a big deal about going to the sporting events. Nonetheless, people are REALLY hype about being from UD...just not the sports part

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There is a pretty low crime rate and active alert system.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is present on campus but doesn't eliminate the social life. People who are involved typically love their organization and try to recruit actively is possible. Most organizations do great things for their philanthropies, which they center their events around.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The school offers very nice facilities for both athletes and students. There is a lot of incentive offered to students to attend sporting events. When people do attend there is a high spirit level.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Everything about it is great but many dorms do not have air conditioning. Since I am in the freshman honors building, there is ac so I appreciate that, but many of my friends in non-honors dorms do not have a/c.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: The students at the school don't get very excited about sports, but many use the facilities to exercise.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have so far received a great education and have been placed in a more than welcoming community.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I have really enjoyed living on campus my freshman and sophomore year so far. Freshman year was especially great living in Russell Hall. The social atmosphere is nice and everyone becomes very close. The dorms are in a great location and the walk to class is not bad. It is very convenient as it is close to the dining hall, the gym, academic buildings and the POD. The housing process is not the best but you are still able to live where you want for the most part.

Greek Life: Greek life is a large part of the campus social scene. I am looking to join a sorority spring semester but have had a great social life without being in one. Being in one helps to become more involved and meet more people. Non-greeks and greeks do not treat each other any differently. There is many available options for Greek housing on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Varsity sports are fairly large at the University of Delaware. We have D1 sports and the games are fun to attend. Basketball games are some of the most fun in my opinion and the school spirit is great. The facilities are really nice and are accommodating to both athletes and non-athletes.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
