3 College Junior

Diversity: UD is not a historically diverse school, however new diversity plans are said to soon be implemented by the newly elected university president. At least 76% of the student body is caucasian.

5 College Junior

Academics: UD easily provides the best education experience in the state. The quality of its professors and curriculum is comparable to that of an Ivy league school.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel very safe between the presence of the Newark PD and UD PD. Some crimes have been committed on campus, however the use of a fast and sophisticated alert system ensures caution and safety. I have never heard of nor witnessed a crime conducted by a student.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Newer residence halls are excellent and there are plenty to choose from. Older residence halls often have no AC, however they are very well kept and hold their historic charm.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life is huge here, but it's not everything. It's a great way to meet people quickly and add to the experience. Non-greeks have no difficulty affiliating with greeks.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Outstanding athletic facilities. A great variety of varsity and intramural sports available. The football team's performance has been very lackluster in recent years. However, school spirit remains strong.

4 College Junior

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Student health doesn't do much to help. There are often police present

5 College Freshman

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't really know a lot about greek life but a lot of people are in frats and they have a lot of parties

4 College Freshman

Athletics: many of our teams aren't very good but there are lots of sports to attend and we have a lot of spirit

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
