Transportation: There are campus buses that run every day, though not as frequently as one would like. Helpful for getting between north, south, and central campuses, but not for just getting around the main campus. Parking is available but expensive. Cabs and public buses exist, but are hard to find.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: locations close to campus but expensive. police patrol regularly.

Transportation: Bus transportation is very good! Campus is large but everything is in walking distance. Plus the view on your walk is beautiful on sunny days!

Majors: Faculty was outstanding! I have to attend graduate school so I do have another opportunity to go through it again. It was a very rewarding experience.

Health & Safety: The campus is safe but as any campus has, there are concerns when alone late at night.

Off-Campus Dining: Quality is excellent ! I recommend La Pasta Costa!

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Houses and apartments available all over campus but expensive.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There is a huge amount of variety of things to eat on Main Street. There are no student discounts, but Main Street has a great selection of places to eat.

Greek Life: Greek life is huge at the University of Delaware, but that does not necesarily mean it is a good thing. If you are in a frat or sorority, it takes up a lot of your time, but you can get into parties and such on the weekends. If you are not in a fraternity or sorority, which many aren't due to other commitments, you might have trouble finding parties and things to do on the weekends.

Local Area: There are not many places to go off of campus unless you have a car. The only place to hangout off campus in walking distance is Main Street, but that might get old after a while. The campus has a good number of things to do though so it is not too bad.
Everyone that visits the campus or have stores by the campus are super friendly and it is a nice environment to be in.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Aside from the freshman dorms, the other campus housing is decently new. Most dorms are very close to other dorms, so there is always activities and people hanging out by the dorms. The cost is a little expensive, but in comparison to other options for housing, not too bad.

Administration: Cops mostly don't get anybody in too much trouble unless you're a complete idiot

Parking: Getting a spot isn't hard at all, but as a freshman you may get stuck with parking at the stadium but you really don't need a car in the first place.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Dining halls are alright but get old. Perkins and Trabant are always on point for points/flex.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Good looking, stylish, there are a good amount of assholes, mostly the top tier greeks. But overall there are a lot of cool people

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The games are free, which is nice; but there is a reason they are free...

3 College Junior

Local Area: Newark, DE is very close to Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, so travelling to bigger cities usually isn't a huge issue (especially to visit friends at other colleges). Most students are out of state, so there's a good mix of people.

Drug Safety: UD's drug scene isn't as big as it's alcohol scene. Sure, you will come across people using drugs, but alcohol is used more frequently and openly. There isn't too much peer pressure; if you say no, people respect that.

Campus Quality: UD's Main Street is usually the center of attention, which is crawling with restaurants and a few bars for students. In addition, the fitness center at UD has been under construction for almost a year and will soon offer more room for students. If you aren't a big partier, though, there isn't too much to do here (unless you have a car). The mall and the nearest movie theater call for transportation. Thankfully, UD has just partnered with MegaBus, so now you can travel to a number of locations for a low price, which is perfect for a college budget.

Campus Quality: I am currently on track for a bachelor degree at the University of Delaware. My school provides challenging courses, which I appreciate. Overall, the science courses are very rigorous, so even though it is tough, you will learn what you are taught. The introductory math courses could be a little better.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are many options of off-campus options in Newark. Many are extremely near the campus and closer than many dorms to the campus. Some are expensive and others are cheaper. But either way they are most comfortable to live in and safe. There are security always patrolling, both the university police, state police, Newark police, and county police. I have never heard about crimes where people would break into an apartment. bottom line is, many apartments are close to campus and many of the restaurants, stores, they are safe, and many are affordable.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug use at my school is not severe. It is mostly experimentation and marijuana use.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: The admission process for my major is quite simple. You just need to have a minimum gpa of 2.5.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The major I have declared is Health Behavioral Sciences. I ultimately want to become a Nurse and this major will put me on that path. Overall, I am satisfied with my major and I think the courses are a great start to getting me going on my way to being a Nurse.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: dining hall is not very good but trabant center and perkins center are pretty good.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
