4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek Life is important at UD for many students but it is not required

3 College Junior

Athletics: Athletics at UD vary in popularity. Football and basketball are attended the most.

4 College Junior

Majors: I really enjoy my majors and the professors are very knowledgeable about their field

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I love the University of Delaware and all it has to offer.

3 College Junior

Local Area: Main Street is a good destination but parking is sometimes difficult without a parking pass or having to pay. Walking is the best option

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I do not really dine off campus much, but when I do it is always a positive experience.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I absolutely love my school. I had great professors so far who really taught and cared about my education.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Its not a city, but not in the middle of nowhere. I feel like there is plenty to do and I am never bored.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: There are a lot of parties going on mostly every weekend.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There is a lot of support on campus for students to make sure they always feel safe on campus. I always do.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I do not have a big interaction with greek life on campus.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Sometimes policies are a bit unclear, but overall the administration does a good job.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Make sure to turn everything in on time and that everything is correct.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of new town houses and they are very nice.

College Freshman

Scholarships: I did not apply for financial aid

4 College Freshman

Majors: I am an honors biology major and the honors program is definitely very difficult. You need to maintain a 3.0 in order to stay in and the classes on the science side are extremely difficult.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: There are a lot of parties from Wednesday through Saturday night. Usually they start on Thursday nights but most go on Friday and Saturday

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Security is everywhere. They are always around and easy to call.

4 College Freshman

Administration: The school has the standard policies in place and handles them all well. Security is really good and safety is big.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: There is a great mall nearby and it's tax free! All upscale stores. Philly is only 45 minutes and Baltimore an hour.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life is not for me. I enjoy going to their parties though. If you are a male it is hard to get into the parties.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I played club soccer and it was only coached by the seniors which led to a lot of playing time for upper class but not for freshman. Plus it was based on how much you went to their parties and there was hazing involved. I now play on the Div 1 team and find it great!

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There a number of chain restaurants such as Panera, Chipotle, Cheeburger and Starbucks. There are also a number of small restaurants right on the main street which cater to students and visitors. Many offer discounts.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love the size of the campus and the people I have met. UD has surpassed all my expectations.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: love the school, the campus and the people

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
