Party Scene: The night life is ok. There are bars and restaurants on the main st. But that's about it. However, bars close early, and some of the bouncers at the bars can he jerks.

Athletics: Football is a big deal considering Joe Flacco (Baltimore ravens quarter back) is a UD Alumni and won the Super Bowl. So UD is very proud of their blue hens.

4 College Junior

Diversity: The campus is very diverse, and I regularly have peers from my different areas of the country and even the world. While many students are from the Northeast, I will frequently meet others from throughout the country.

Campus Housing: All residence halls are very clean and nice, and new ones are constantly being built, even for freshman!

Transportation: Travel at Delaware is extremely easy, and probably one of the biggest perks of this school. It is extremely centrally located, about equally distant from New York and Washington (~2 hours) and Philadelphia and Baltimore (~1 hour). Amtrak, Megabus and Greyhound stop on campus multiple times a day in addition to SEPTA. Zip cars can be rented as well. Getting around on campus is just as easy with the UD Bus system that always has routes running and can be tracked online. It even tells you what percent full each bus is at any given time. That being said, the campus is extremely walkable and taking a bus is not always necessary.

Drug Safety: Drinking is much more the scene at UD. Although student take drugs to go to events, most just smoke which UD seems to crack down on.

4 College Senior

Technology: You have a $5 limit on free printing, but I always seem to run out. The computes are fast and work well, but they fill up quickly.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There are many places to live but it is expensive.

Technology: The computer labs can be crowded but the equipment is up to date. The school has wifi all throughout the campus making it easy to study just about anywhere.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: There are quite a few dining options at UD. There are flew points that can be used throughout the campus and even some of the restaurants on main street. Dining halls run on dining plans that can be specialized to meet the students needs.

3 College Junior

Campus Quality: Our Ag field is quite large and they have there own farms and creamery. The ice cream is delicious and affordable.

Campus Quality: UD's campus is aesthetically pleasing and makes it great to study and be active outdoors. The facilities are kept clean and well maintained. The main library is large and there are several other libraries scattered throughout that are substantial. There is a big drive for athletic centers and many of those buildings are sustained mostly through green energy. Overall an excellent school for study and living.

Academics: The academics at University of Delaware vary depending on the course. Some classes can be very challenging, while others are easier. It depends on the professor, as well. Professors are usually available to talk with students after class or during their office hours.

5 Recent Alumnus

Academics: I'm in the physical therapy graduate program, and the professors are extremely intelligent and helpful. They want each student to do well. The courses are totally useful. It's a top notch program.

Greek Life: The school has its own charm that makes you feel welcome and everything is there for you. There is not many attractions but the town makes it more comfy for the lifestyle of the students.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
