4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There are many attractive guys and girls. There are people with all different interests and many who are big on their social lives.

5 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The school very noticeably tries to maintain a safe environment and has instituted a program to make sure students can report cases of alcohol poisoning without having to worry about getting in trouble themselves. Very little peer pressure takes place.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: A decent amount of diversity. No more than I was expecting.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Main Street is conveniently located in the middle of campus with a variety of dining options to choose from.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Gets very cold in the winter, but does not snow very often.

4 College Senior

Technology: There are many computers available to use all over campus

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: I have an on campus meal plan, so I don't eat out much, but when I do, I like it.

4 College Senior

Athletics: The football team is pretty big, and our Marching Band is huge, but other than that, we have basketball, and I don't follow other sports.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: They're very nice. Most of them know what they're talking about. Many of the nurses assume you're pregnant as soon as you walk in the door.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Most campus dining food is done around 9-11pm and mainly freshman and sophomore's only go.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Going into Greek Life early has made my college experience amazing and has also helped me grow up.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Off Campus food is pretty nice for the most part but everything is close which is good but by everything being so convient you kind of get a taste of everything fast if you are one of those people who like to explore a lot.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I mean every college has it around them believe it or not, Weed and Alcohol is just something that people depict in their mind when they think of college.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: I love the girls at my school and the guys are very chill. Delaware is mostly New Jersey and New York kids so that took some getting use to coming form Virgrinia but they make me want to live there cause they are so chill and relaxed kids.

Weather: It's very rainy and cold pretty much all the time during the Fall time but also the weather can be very bipolar and just decide to be 95 degrees in the middle of October.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Delaware is known for it's Day Drinks which are phenomenal but there aren't realty club's to go to unless you are in greek like or on a sports team and have mixers and such.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I would say being in a Fraternity makes me take school more serious. There's a GPA Requirement within every Frat to stay in it, and you compete to be number within the school by attending many events and doing community/volunteer work so it makes competition positive and beneficial towards the school and community.

Transportation: For the most part the busses and shuttle for Udel students around the campus are great, the busses near Gore Hall come frequently but the West Campus shuttles tend to take a bit longer just because of their stretch across from everything on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: After I'm Schmacked, our president of the university has been very strict on house parties and our chances of bringing back tailgates to the school.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: It really just comes down to getting the grades to get/stay in the major. Finance is a very competitive major here so it's pretty hard with all the competition for companies such as EY and JP Morgan.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I enjoy it and the hands on work we have assigned us. Also Career Fairs are always good to go to here.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: My Freshman year was horrible with living in Dickinson Hall, it was the worst dorm and they didn't even showcase my dorm during orientation day. No A/C and very far from my class but other than that all the other dorms are relatively new and nice.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Delaware is revolved around the University itself.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Some advisors are bad. Student Services is okay.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Day Drinks, how involved everyone is and UDance.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
