5 College Sophomore

Majors: I am very happy with my program. I am only in my second year and I know so much.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: If you want to travel home your best bet is to ride the train, it picks up right on campus, or bus, which also picks up on campus.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: We have UDance every year to help raise money for pediatric cancer.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: The athletic centers are amazing as well as the library and student centers.

Academics: The program is great ! The classes are very interesting and the proffessors are very helpful. There is many options for interships and the school even has a place you can train at.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The academics here are very good but some of the professors are not reat teachers. If you use a site like rate my professsor or talk to a student you are more likey to get a good idea of what classes to take.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing is very convient when it comes to etting to classes and ahopping. Everything is close by but it can be a little hard to find places that are available and at a low cost.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: There are many options for parking on campus but they will cost you. If you park at meters it is a quarter for ten minutes and you can only put in two hours at a time. If you choose a parking permit, the garages are very convient, but the cost is high.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: There is a lot to do on and off campus. The activities also range from bars, to bowling to coffee shops.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: The weather is normally not bad. We don't get much snow or rain or crazy amounts of wind, but when we do it can be annoying because you have to walk to get to most places on campus

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: The School has a very diverse range of people and backgrounds

3 College Freshman

Transportation: There are shuttles that are convenient, but otherwise it is difficult to navigate and I have not quite figured it out yet.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I applied for financial aid and the school was very helpful in making it possible for me to attend here. They gave me grants and aid and made it more in the price range that was acceptable to both my parents and me.

Administration: They have a lot of policies in order, but as long as you're not an idiot you shouldn't get in trouble.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: There are more girls than guys here. Some guys are attractive and nice and outgoing, some are athletic and hardworking, some are geeky and weird. There is a large variety of guys on campus.

Academics: The academics are a challenging adjustment, but manageable. For the most part my professors are involved and make the lecture easy to understand. For my major I participate in required research experiments which are interesting.

Academics: The academics here are very good. The classes are challenging but the professors are helpful and easy to get hold of if you need help understanding specific lecture topics.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Alcohol is available at parties, but you rarely see kids doing drugs. And underage kids have to find a source for alcohol, since the town is strict on ids.

2 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food isn't terrible, but it definitely isn't good. The dining hours can sometimes be difficult to fit in with class schedules.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: I think everyone is very open-minded and making friends isn't a problem for anyone.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The facilities are great to work out for the average student and sports both varsity and club/intramural are popular but not mandatory.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It's not too bad, I just would prefer to have more space/privacy and control over who lives around me. Air conditioning and a better bathroom for showering would also make living here more worthwhile.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
