5 College Freshman

Transportation: I would say UD has the best shuttle service around.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I haven't seen anyone actually doing it, but you can tell by looking at people that they've been doing it recently.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Admission is expensive. The application process is only long if you're not prepared.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Most aren't paid anymore, and students tend to get overworked.

4 College Freshman

Weather: It rains a lot in Newark, but it doesn't really affect anything. Most of the days are still sunny and nice.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: I feel like they almost just don't want to give you aid at all. It is such a hassle that I am still struggling to deal with.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: All the dorms are different. Some are really nice but others are just icky.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are SO MANY housing options off campus, but the cost is not always low enough for students to live off of.

4 College Freshman

Administration: The administration is fairly organized, so however they're doing it is working. However at the same time a lot of parties have been broken up because of the strictness.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: A lot of people are involved. They are involved in so many great events and they usually rent out houses near campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: They always have something different every night, and you can go to whatever dining hall you want.

2 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Some classes are interesting, but others aren't. I love my major and all, but the school is more disorganized than I thought and they are not very helpful when it comes to financial trouble.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: There is ALWAYS some sort of transportation open at night for parties. There are late night buses and overnight parking lots.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Students are very involved in on-campus activities, but there are so many students that get devoted to partying more than their academics. A lot of the girls dress inappropriately for the public and the guys usually have on sweat pants for class. I feel like at times they focus more on their relationships with their friends than they do on their classes.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I would say we don't really have drugs on campus. I am sure they are probably there, but normally it is only pot and very few people actually partake.

5 College Sophomore

Majors: I am very happy with my program. I am only in my second year and I know so much.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: If you want to travel home your best bet is to ride the train, it picks up right on campus, or bus, which also picks up on campus.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: We have UDance every year to help raise money for pediatric cancer.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: The athletic centers are amazing as well as the library and student centers.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Some are known specifically for their sluts and players, but most of the others are know to do some good things

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There are lots of places on campus to party, including many places on Main Street.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Main Street is full of resturant choices for any price range and is easily accessable.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: The program is great ! The classes are very interesting and the proffessors are very helpful. There is many options for interships and the school even has a place you can train at.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The academics here are very good but some of the professors are not reat teachers. If you use a site like rate my professsor or talk to a student you are more likey to get a good idea of what classes to take.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing is very convient when it comes to etting to classes and ahopping. Everything is close by but it can be a little hard to find places that are available and at a low cost.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
