Health & Safety: Newark is a boring town and nothing happens and when someone gets mugged all the students get a text. I am from the city and honestly nothing bad ever happens.

Local Area: NEWARK SUCKS THE COPS ARE AFTER YOU!!

Overall Experience: Really depends on the classes you are in.

Overall Experience: The school has a really good career services office that can be incredibly helpful if you make the initiative and most of the professors will help you if you ask.

Party Scene: It really depends what you're looking for. As a girl I can get into any party but the frat parties get boring and the guys are hella creepy. As a freshman I don't know people with apartments yet but I know that would be more fun because it is smaller and less smelly.

5 College Senior

Majors: I like my program. The courses are arranged carefully and useful. Education is the best kind of investment. The internship in Department of Applied Economics and Statistics are ample.

Off-Campus Housing: The cost for renting a room in Newark is reasonable. It is quite easy to find the suitable room. The landlord can be nice, it depends on what kind of person you met.

Campus Housing: I live in the house. The room is spacious and quiet. I like living in Newark. It is quite convenient if you have a car. If you do not have a car, it is okay if you live near campus.

5 College Senior

Scholarships: There are plenty of scholarships, especially lots of scholarships for female students.

Local Area: Newark is a great place to live in. The living cost is not very high, and it is very close to Philly, DC and New York. The only problem is that it does not have many fancy restaurants.

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of variety restaurants available. Spanish food are the most common, followed by US and Italian. I am a fan of Asian food. There are not many Asian restaurants available. You need to drive out of town to find some nice Chinese food.

Off-Campus Housing: the process of finding an off campus place starts so early in the year prior as a freshman looking to live off campus for sophomore year you have to decide who you want to live with and where you want to live before you're even totally comfortable with campus

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
