Health & Safety: Per the student health services: they never really know what they're doing. You wait forever until they finally call you in to see you and all they give you is a "cold pack" half the time - just some lozenges and tylenol of some sort, usually. Not much else. Once, I went in and told them that I was sick for three weeks straight (I never get sick) and I waited for two hours for someone to tell me I had a cold - which is basically what I'd told them when I'd gotten there. I've never since gone back. I've had several people they have been misdiagnosed there as well, one of the people who told me also said that she could die if she ever got pneumonia again (they told her she had a cold, but it was pneumonia, so they put her life at risk)

The safety concerns are mostly because I don't trust people in general and as a former victim of assault, I'm *always* concerned with it, regardless of the intense presence of the police. I worry about the excessive drinking because kids on our campus are dumb and irresponsible and don't know when to stop or how to look after their friends. People have died because of such carelessness.

Some of the criminal activity I've heard near campus just makes me feel unsafe in general and non-students on campus make me nervous. I feel like I have to be hyper-vigilant all the time to make sure I'm safe. (But that may just be a personal preference of viewing strangers and potential dangerous situations).

Parking: The price for a parking pass in the semester is an outrageous amount of money ($300+) and doesn't make sense to charge that much when we're putting all the money we have and a lot of money we don't have straight back into that school. If you can't get one of those and want one for a parking garage, they're $600. It's completely ridiculous that they would charge that much of students who only want to be there to learn, not have anxiety attacks over how much their parking passes cost.

The parking enforcement officers are always on their game, though. They ticket very fast and efficiently, and you never even see them until a delightful little envelope is attempting to escape from the clutches of your windshield wiper in the breeze.

Campus Housing: My dorm is fairly close to where I have to go for classes. Some dorm are not, but they also have somethings that my dorm doesn't. The rooms in my dorm are fairly small and compact, but very livable. The halls and lounge areas are kept really neat and clean. Since my dorm is all singles with the few doubles at the ends of the halls, everyone gets to know one another pretty well and are all friendly

Greek Life: Everyone views everyone normally. No one is really prejudice towards members of greek-life. Everyone gets a long well. I am currently a part of a fraternity and I have plenty of friends that are not and I get a long with them just fine.

Guys & Girls: The girls on campus are like the average girl everyone knows. All have different characteristics and styles of dress.

Technology: The wifi network is slow in some areas around campus whether it be in residence halls or class building, but it is primarily resourceful. Most students on campus have their own printers, so the price at the library to print is fairly low. The library offers a decent amount of computers for students to use in order to get work done

Local Area: The town of newark offers students plenty to do. From dining to shopping, there is plenty to do on main street

Campus Quality: The university offers a variety of academic programs for students to choose from along with an abundant amount of professors that teach many different subjects.

Campus Quality: The campus life is very serine if you are looking for that. It is very peaceful and has a lot of areas where you can lounge out in the sun or toss a football around with some friends. The facilities are very beneficial too. The library has a lot of resources to offer as well as plenty of space to get work done. The gym has a variety of equipment for students to use and it is very well maintained. For the social students, the campus houses a variety of places where students can go and have a good time. Main street houses plenty of restaurants and shops for students to go and enjoy. The two student centers house a variety of activities for students to partake in. One houses a movie theater while the other house an area where students can go to play video games, pool, pingpong, air hockey or to just hangout.

Diversity: There is a lot of diversity on campus and it is very well shown. A good amount of the students are international students that come to the university for a good education. I don't really have an input on political beliefs or sexual orientation mainly because I don't pay any attention to it and just go about my day as usual. The same goes for economic background because to me, as long as someone is nice about it or doesn't care what their situation is and makes the best of it, then their economic background has no importance to me and I am friendly with them. It isn't like I would only talk to rich kids and completely ignore the lesser off ones. No. That isn't how I am. I am friendly with everyone I meet.

Campus Food: The dining halls are hit or miss. Some days they serve delicious food items and some not so much. Most of the times other dining halls have better options than the one closest to my own dorm. The campus offers a variety of places where you can use points or flex in order to purchase food or other items.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: not as much hype as I'd expect, not as much school spirit.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: For the most part, it is relatively safe. However, their priorities when it comes to what actually matters in the big picture, is askew. Security officials need to focus less on being the "Big Bad Wolf" and more on protecting the actual welfare of students.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: It is what it is. Can not hate or judge a person for being themselves.

Off-Campus Dining: Not man options. Students are forced to eat dining hall food which is bad enough.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Varsity athletics are not as big of a deal as in other schools.

5 College Freshman

Academics: A+ school when it comes to grades and majors. Many opportunities for students.

Academics: The curriculum for every major is clear cut and they guide you through piking classes, and let you know if a course load would be too much or where to move certain classes around.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: New buildings are being built as I right this revue. They make an effort to keep the university looking modern.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: My school is known as a party school and has definetly lived up to that.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The police crack down when it is needed and they are there very quick.

Technology: Campus has amazing wifi and great computers to use in the facilities.

5 College Freshman

Administration: Campus officials regulate what needs to be regulate and don't worry too much about the small stuff.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Food is okay on certain nights, but definitely needs improvement.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
