Technology: There are many computers available to use in the library. The library also has a large printing station, and there are other printing stations around campus. However, relying on the library computers may not be the best idea as the library is not close to many dorms and it may be inconvenient to only use those computers. The computers themselves function very well though, and the internet connection is great.

Overall Experience: University of Delaware has provided a great college experience so far with a beautiful campus and a nice town surrounding it. The professors have been great and very helpful and the class selection has been more than I could ask for. The students are very friendly and living in the dorms has been a fun and exciting way to meet new people and make new friends. Overall I am very satisfied with college so far and I feel that there are many opportunities waiting for me at the University of Delaware.

Greek Life: Greek life is seen as more of a positive thing than a clique. They socialize with everyone and dont make others uncomfortable for not being in their fraternity.

Academics: Nursing is a challenging major but there are faculty that want to see all of us students graduate. Its a lot of science but as long stay focused and have great time management you shall be fine. Form group sessions and go to professors office hours because that is very helpful.

Academics: Getting one on one with your professors lets the professor know that you care about your grades and they can focus on your needs more

Campus Food: There are plenty of dining halls around that are walking distance. There are also many scrounges where you can get different types of food. We have P.O.D and express markets near different complexes which are opened till 2am so there is no reason why you cant get a late night snack

Campus Housing: Most dorms are new or built 6 years ago. The space in the dorms is wonderful, big enough for multiple people in the room and not feel cramped. RA staff is so nice and always willing to help. We have dorm activities which make you get to know who is on your floor and make friends with others in the building. If there is a problem with a cleaning staff member, RA member, or roommate, the faculty are there to fix your needs.

Campus Quality: We have concerts on the Green when it is nice outside. The main athletic center was built this year, it is huge and beautiful inside. That is where I take zumba and dance classes.

Campus Quality: There is always something to do around campus. The fact that it is a college town is amazing. We have main street which is blocks and blocks long filled with, restaurants, stores and other good stuff. The nursing program attracted me the most because once you get accepted in the nursing program you do not have to apply again sophomore year like most schools.

Weather: I love it because I still get to experience all 4 seasons. It was nice when it snowed and everyone went outside and seeing those that have never experienced snow before was interesting and fun

Athletics: The football and basketball teams are popular, a lot of students go to the games and show school spirit. The intramural sports are very accepting of those that want to participate.

Parking: I do not have a car on campus but I do know that there are parking lots very close to classes and dorms. Parking on the street can be difficult because there are a lot of no parking zones

Health & Safety: It is very safe on campus. We have blue lights on campus that you can press if you feel like you are in danger. You can call campus security to meet you anywhere and they can take you to your destination if you aren't comfortable walking alone. If something around campus occurs we get email and text messages that allow us to know what is happening. The police are constantly driving around campus at night. You feel safe on campus

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I have not lived off campus since I am only a freshman but the school helps students a lot. We get emails on what houses are around and shuttle buses are willing to take you there. The houses are close to campus and there are stops for transportation

Drug Safety: Security is always around which helps make the campus feel safe. People do drink at parties but most students are with responsible friends and don't drink excessively. I do not drink, take drugs nor go to parties but I am not left out. My friends and I can find something relaxing to do around campus or in our rooms.

Overall Experience: Absolutely love my school. It's easy to see the charm when you're walking down the green on a sunny day, and the balance between college town with Main Street added. Depending upon your major, it is definitely challenging. Despite the I'm Shmacked incident which may have tarnished the school's reputation, it is important to note that most students that attend the school actually care about their studies and don't just care about the parties. The school encompasses a large population with a small school feel, and it is a great place.

Campus Food: Depending upon where you live, you are either next to a dining hall or have to walk 10-15 minutes to get to one. They often do theme meals, and dining services really tries to make students happy. There are alot of options to choose from, and if you don't have time to go do the dining hall, you can use points at the student centers or markets on campus.

Greek Life: Udel prides itself on its greek life. All of the sororities and fraternities get along great, and are very involved in each others' philanthropies, etc. Sororities have spring rush which allow freshmen to become friends before immediately joining a sorority, and connects people in greek life and out of it. Depending upon the house, a few guys may live in their chapter houses, but most don't. Some sororities have houses, and house a few girls.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: As an underclassmen, frat parties/house parties get old quickly. The bar scene is great, but there are always lines outside the doors on Main St. on any given weekend. However, they are convenient and offer specials.

Health & Safety: There are many instances of thefts, etc around Newark, but most do not involve students. Blue lights on campus help, but be sure to never walk alone. If you're leaving the library at night or just don't feel safe, call campus security and someone will walk with you.

Parking: At the on campus dorms, there are maybe five meters for a building so you're lucky if you get one. Student parking is expensive and limited. You need to keep track of meter times because the cops are always writing tickets. A car is not necessary for a freshman and even sophomore, but if you live off campus or travel between home and school a lot it might be desirable.

5 College Junior

Local Area: Main Street unifies the campus and features many great restaurants and shopping that students enjoy. Newark Deli and Bagel is a favorite, and much more. There are plenty of things to do on campus depending upon what you are looking for. There are townies that sit in front of Dunkin Donuts, but families in Newark don't seem to mind the college town.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
