Campus Housing: Some dorms are farther away from my classes than others but it's a huge campus so that's only to be expected.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love the University of Delaware. My major is perfect and the courses I have taken and am currently enrolled in have enforced my strong desire to be a Secondary English Educator.

Greek Life: My friends all enjoy the fraternities and sororities they have joined.

Guys & Girls: always someone "interesting" to look at

Majors: I love it and its exactly what I want to be involved in

5 College Junior

Majors: Its easy to get into

Off-Campus Housing: Lots of off campus housing available, they even added on this year building the retreat which is another off housing available at UD.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Sports is everything, from intramural, to clubs, to varsity, every student can get involved and it doesn't matter what level you get involved with it will be COMPETITIVE! Its also another great way to make friends and get involved.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There is a good ratio of people involved and not involved. 1-4 students are involved in greek life so, non greek students never feel out of place or miss out on the many things the university has to offer.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The programs are good, but have their pros and cons. For instance if you are in a major you have preferences for certain classes and sometimes the class is held for you. The flip to that is that you have to wait for some classes, if it is no required for your major. For your respective majors there are internships and jobs available, you just have to go out and look for them.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: There are both paid internships as well as non paid. And they run during the school year as well as during the summer.

Off-Campus Dining: Dining is ranges from all types of foods, we have tons of restaurants all along main-street from chipotle, to iron hill, grottos, california tortilla etc. All have discounts for students and some places are open till 3am for students.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Teachers are great and are always willing to lend a helping hand. The hold office hours which is basically time outside of class to help students one-on-one, which tends to be helpful.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: This college has it all, we have one of the nicest greens that is really picturesque. We have a newly renovated gym for non varsity students, which has everything from 5 basketball courts, rock climbing wall, 3 floors of weights, bikes and equipment. One of the biggest library in the nation, with 2.4 million books.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: The school is lively and there is always something to do during the week and especially during the weekends. The campus is located in the beautiful area of Newark, and the locals are young so there are never really much complaining. The school has 3 police forces so you are always safe.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There are slightly more girls than guys on our campus. There are about 25% of students involved in Greek life, so if your interested its definitely there and if your not there again are another 75% not involved. The school as a whole has wide range of personalities of guys and girls.

Diversity: There is so much diversity at the University, diversity to me is really represented by the color of the skin but by the story and past of everyone on the campus. We have students from all over the US and even all over the world. Its fascinating the different types of people you meet if you were just to walk across campus. The school is really accepting of all different types of diversity which is why i feel its such a great sschool.

Overall Experience: The environment is what makes UD special, the people comprised of the students & faculty and its location. The school is so big that you can find your niche of people to hang out with but can also reach out and make new friends all the time. The teachers are great and are always lending a helping hand. Lastly, the campus for me is just beautiful and embodies what I wanted my college to look like.

Campus Food: I wish we got more points to use as part of the meal plan because I constantly want to eat at Einstein Bagels and the Trabant food court, two places that have the best food in my opinion.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus dining is definitely the best! There are so many options whether cheap or expensive. Lots of different styles of cuisine and unique restaurants that offer vegan or vegetarian meals. There are also lots of iconic restaurants on Main Street that every student must try. Popular places are Klondike Kate's, California Tortilla, Chipotle, Newark Deli and Bagel ( affectionately called NDB), Deer Park and many more!

Greek Life: I personally am not involved in Greek life because I am not into that scene. As a girl you can still get into tons of parties being non-Greek but it is much harder for guys. There is some on campus houses for sororities but fraternity houses are all of campus and are just rental houses that get trashed on the weekends. There are nice people in Greek life and then there are the people that think that being Greek makes them entitled and elite. I have roommates in Greek life and my boyfriend is in a fraternity so there is certainly plenty of mingling between Greeks and non Greeks.

Scholarships: I was fortunate to get a nice merit scholarship to attend UD but barely got any financial aid at all. I would recommend that students apply to a lot of outside scholarships and get good grades to secure a merit scholarship instead of relying on financial aid.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: Meal plans are expensive and the food is average. If you live in the towers or off campus sophomore year or higher you can just cook for yourself (if you are willing to put in the extra effort). I decided not to have a meal plan sophomore year and won't for junior or senior year as well. I just use points to eat at the student center or library if I don't want to cook for that meal.

Campus Quality: UD definitely offers some beautiful architecture all over campus. They are constantly building on and improving the campus as well. Our student gym was renovated prior to the 2013/2014 year for millions of dollars and it is beautiful. In addition, there are new academic buildings I have had class in that have state of the art labs and really cool technology. There are plenty of places to study but the library is definitely the go-to place and is usually pretty full. The library is receiving renovations currently to update the look on the inside and I'm sure it will come out great. The gardens and green spaces on campus are beautifully kept and always mowed and trimmed to perfection, which is why students love to lay on the green on nice days.

Campus Quality: I love UD and I think that there is plenty here for students to become involved in during their spare time whether or not drinking is involved. There are always parties on the weekends and its not too hard to find stuff going on on Thursdays as well. There are fun events on campus to go to like cheap movies in a nice on campus theater, talent shows, fashion shows, drag shows, musicians, comedians, pretty much anything you can think of. The surrounding city of Newark also provides students with plenty to do whether its going out to eat, shop, go bowling etc. One thing I love about my school is that there are always kids outside playing sports or laying on the green talking and listening to music. I can say that I am definitely never bored at UD!

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
