Guys & Girls: Most of the people here are spoiled kids who have mommy and daddy pay for everything, so I really don't have anything in common with them.

Academics: The program, education, faculty, and facilities for the sciences here are fantastic. Workload and curriculum are indicative of a solid program, and opportunities for research and internships and career help are very strong.

Academics: The academics here offer a wide range, and nearly all areas are very strong.

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: I received funding through my program, with that process going smoothly. Due to scheduling issues largely my fault, I now need to supplement that funding.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Quality: The research facilities here are fantastic, with strong programs and faculty as well. It's a nice little college town with a lot of restaurants and shopping and housing, with the strength of a solid research institution.

4 Recent Alumnus

Campus Quality: Facilities for students are very good. Student centers and library are excellent, and a new fitness center is one of the best I've ever seen.

3 Recent Alumnus

Greek Life: Greek life is prevalent, but doesn't seem to dominate social life. I can't really speak to it further from my experience.

4 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: Campus is very diverse in nearly every way. I work with and socialize with people from different countries, of different political opinions, sexual orientations, and economic backgrounds. The diversity of the school is a positive for the school and works very well.

5 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: A great many options for off-campus housing, ranging in price, housing options, proximity to campus. Most locations are very good quality; I have not heard any major complaints about off-campus housing.

4 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: Athletics are important, most people follow the varsity teams, and opportunities for club and intramural activities are good. I would not say that athletics dominates the school.

5 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Dining: There is an excellent set of off-campus dining options. Many varieties spanning cost and cuisine, most with student discounts and convenient access.

4 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: The student body here is a very attractive one on the whole. The party scene and social life is thriving and pretty important to many. However, a large part of the students (male and female) are very driven academically, with clear career goals.

Majors: The biology program here is very strong, and offers a wide range of very good quality training and education. It prepares you well for whatever direction you wish to take your education and career.

Majors: The process of applying for this program was seamless with very few challenges. While transcript and grades were important, relevant work and research experience and other involvement seemed to play a primary role in the evaluation of applicants.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: I am a chemistry major. UD has one of the best programs. I am so proud to be apart of it. The Fauclty is filled with some the brightest most caring people. The workload is steady but doable. Everyone is rooting for you and youearn things you wouldn't learn anywhere else. If you are thinking a out chemistry consider UD.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Some subjects are better than others. Undeniable science programs especially chemsitry. I haven't run across a bad prof. This is a gem of a school. I couldnt be happier.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: The campus is full of people from different walks of life. Everyone one is very accepting. We have drag shows and multicultural events. Difference are cebrated.

Scholarships: Finicial aid was ease to apply for. It is all setup on your account on UDSIS. Schlorships that are available or that you are eligible for are laid out in an easy straight forward manner.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: UD has main st. It is a strip of restarants. There is also shopping, movies, and bowling. It is a fantastic atmosphere.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There are a lot of Greek houses but they are in the background. I hear initiation is like a cattle call. Most of the Greeks I hear of are all about the comradarery not the parties so much.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: People are extremely nice. It is diverse on campus. If you are into something there is definetly a group of people on campus that are into the same thing and would love to meet you. Extremely friendly and accepting.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Freshmen housing was easy to navigate. You described what you wanted with a click survey and almost everybody received the type of room they wanted. RAs were more than helpful. Some of the rooms are older but in the next couple years freshmen will be in all newly built dorms. Spacious and ease acres to campus. After freshmen year get to pick exact room you want. Good system. Unique rooms that are perfect for a college student.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Needs to be improved and more funds should be given to people in need.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus is pretty safe. There is definitely help available 24/7 you just have to take the initiative to call and ask for help. However if you are in trouble most people will help you and help save a life. Though outside campus there are pretty serious problems sometimes that needs to be taken under concern. Thefts and robberies are normal on campus and that area needs to be improved it. Since UDEL is an open campus that is another concern. It should be made a closed one and they are also working in prohibiting cigarette smoking in public which is a positive move.

Overall Experience: Favorite experiences of my school contains of all the extra curricular activities they organize which vary from free- at a very cheap cost. For example we have had big celebrities and famous personalities for concerts and shows such as Ed Sheeran, Jcole, Aziz Ansari, Sonia Sotomayor, ofcourse our Alumni Vice-President Joe Biden so many times and many more popular figures in the past when I was not even enrolled at the University of Delaware. Joe Biden was just present at the University of Delaware's graduating class's commencement and gave an excellent speech. What makes my School unique is that even though Delaware is small living on campus in Newark feels like living in a city but also isolated from the rest of the state noise. So it's best of both worlds because everything is easily accessible and going everywhere else is so much closer too. For instance, Philadelphia is just right around the corner about 40 minutes away. Maryland is 25 mins away and New York is close too. So one can definitely go out of state in round about an hour or so with car or if one does not have car we have the service of mega bus which is so cheap and works best for college students. Whats sad is they might be shutting this mega bus service but there are definitely other ways to go around town and out with trains which are only about few dollars with a full day pass to Philadelphia, New York and other places. There are also other bus services! I would definitely choose my school again because it is only 20 mins away from home and I live on campus so I have both experiences of living close to home, going home on weekends if I want to but to also enjoy and explore campus.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
