Party Scene: Parties at UD are very abundant and fun.

Off-Campus Housing: I moved off campus as a sophomore and although I miss making friends in the dorms, I would not have had it any other way.

Local Area: We are a college in a town that loves our college. There are communities not far from dorms and families who live not far away from campus, but there is something to find to get into off campus if you can find someone with a car. If you can't. the college does an okay job of offering things to get into.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I still need financial aid, but for the most part the financial services here are as helpful as they can be.

Greek Life: If you're in a sorority or fraternity, it is great. If you aren't than you have to find something else to do. It is pretty much how you make it out to be

Campus Housing: There are some older dorms, and then there are nicer dorms. But the university is working on building new ones for the incoming freshmen, most people move off campus after their freshman or sophomore year.

Off-Campus Dining: There are many options to choose from. Main stream restaurants like Chipotle and Panera are on Main Street, pizza, mexican, and even chinese food is always accessible.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is great for the first two years, bonding with your floor is one of the best memories from freshman year.

Majors: I came in Undecided and took a broad range of classes and eventually found my place! It was great because I never wasted any classes my advisor ensured that each class I took would fulfill a breadth requirement. It worked out great.

Majors: I love my major, Elementary Teacher Education, it's one of the best programs in the United States. It's unique in the way we have Methods or Blocks before we student teach. It's really helpful in preparing us for the classroom.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
