4 College Junior

Overall Experience: i have no complaints, there is a good study abroad program

4 College Freshman

Academics: The workload is extremely manageable. Yes it is hard work, but it is possible to get through. The professors are understanding and helpfulet and the amount of study places on campus is great.

Health & Safety: When I walk alone on campus at night there are a number of services I can use to guarantee my safety. Such devices include the live safe app that allows my friend to track where I am and make sure I get home safely, and police escortsaid can be used after a late night at the library.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I live in the honors housing. The rooms are spacious enough, even in forced triples, and often up to 8 people hangout in one double room together comfortably. The community in the building is great. We all get along and respect each other. There are a variety of common rooms to study and hangout in.

Greek Life: Greek life on campus can be stressful if you are rushing. While rushing, non-Greeks understand theach pressure you are going through. Although they are not joining a fraternity or sorority, there is a mutual respect between the two groups. Most friend groups involve Greeks and non-Greeks as well.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: School spirit is high at UD. Fans get deked out in blue and gold for games and proudly sing the fight song.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The campus is beautiful. Walking to class, no matter what time, is like walking through a park. It is relaxing and a great stress reliever

Health & Safety: I think Delaware is kind of a sketchy state to begin with, but when I'm walking alone on campus I feel generally safe. There are cameras and emergency buttons all over campus which makes me feel better. But off campus I probably wouldn't walk alone at night.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Having a degree from UD is a pretty big deal in the working world. When an employer sees that they'll definitely be impressed. Student Career Services posts many job/internship opportunities and all you have to do is upload your resume and apply right on the site.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Ratemyprofessor.com is a god send when you're scheduling your classes, because some classes have different professors and depending on which one you get could make or break your experience in the course. I enjoy the wide variety of classes that UD has to offer. My major is a larger one so my classes are usually 100 people or less.

Campus Housing: Most of the new buildings are very nice with spacious rooms, private bathrooms, and AC/heat. If you live in an older building you may be sharing a bathroom with your floor and also not have AC. My campus housing experiences have been fantastic.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: My RA and floormates are the absolute best. we always hang out together and do all kinds of things to have fun

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't really know much about it other than some groups are very very party orientated where as others are actually for student benefit.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Since being a freshman in 2013, I definitely feel like Greek life is a much larger part of UD. I am not in Greek life and I still have friends and a social life, so I'm not complaining. The Greek life people make their fraternity or sorority a part of their life and I feel like they don't really have friends outside of their group. The only thing they're really good for is the parties.

By the end of their years here, most students look back and are happy with their choice. They've received a good education and generally met some people with whom they will keep in touch for many years in "real" life. This love of the school comes about gradually for many students. While some students love it automatically and fit in easily with the relatively homogenous campus, others take longer to find their place and truly start to enjoy themselves.

While many students have a slow start here at Delaware, they all report that once they decided to give it a chance, they found their experience rewarding both academically and socially. This University tends to provide a nice balance between a social life and an academic one. There is always plenty of time to hang out and get your work done, so no matter what you are interested in, you have a chance to get it all done. This is the major benefit of attending the University of Delaware.
