4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Overall my educational experience has been great thus far. I've been lucky with professors and nearly all of them have been very professional, helpful, understanding, knowledgeable, and passionate about their subjects. While courses can be extremely difficult and time consuming, it helps to have accesible TAs and professors as well as small (generally under 30 student) class sizes. As an engineer, I don't have much flexibility in variety of ocurses to take, but as I understand it, other majors do.

Overall Experience: As far as I understand, the University has a strong alumni network that comes in very useful at a lot of companies. There are a ton of resources available in terms of job searches, resume help, internship and co-op searches. There are 2 (I think) job fairs each year with attendance from all sorts of companies, which are great places to network, make connetions, and find a good job (or at least a starter job). I feel very confident that I'll be able to quickly find a job in my feild following graduation.

Health & Safety: While I feel safe and comfortable with almost all students and faculty on campus, UD itself is surrounded by areas that are not the safest and incidents have increased recently of non-students/faculty causing issues on campus (robberies, armed robberies, etc).

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The freshman and sophomore dorms are generally pretty great, they hugely help build the community that UD is known for early on and theyre nicer than most freshman and sophomore dorms that I've seen. Upperclassmen generally live in the Ghetto student housing, which is on the upswing in quality (many houses are new or being redone and fixed up - many are still pretty trashed, though), but in my opinion is still expensive for the quality and amenities. The housing process, however, was recently changed from the lottery system and is absolute trash. Students must attend events outside of class and other activities in order to earn points that go towards housing. It's a huge issue on campus and makes no sense. Overall, though, housing itself is pretty good and everything is close to campus.

Greek Life: I am not a part of Greek life, but fortunately that doesn't make much of an impact on my social life at UD. Greeks are generally welcoming towards non-Greeks and vice-versa. I have heard great things about Greek life from those involved, but it's not a huge deal at all if you are not. I would say that Greek men are mostly party-oriented and don't focus much on the other aspects of Greek life, but they are generally pretty cool, if not a bit more douchey than the general population.

Athletics: Men's varsity basketball obviously reigns at UD, March Madness is insane and support for the team is unyeilding. Most other sports teams, however, are often forgotten about, especially the women's basketball team (who often do better than the men). Intramurals are pretty big though, with competitive and non-competitive leagues so everyone can get involved.

Overall Experience: As a sophomore, I have absolutely loved my time at UD so far. Of course every school has its issues, but overall UD is a welcoming, community-oriented place with a lot of friendly, happy people who have a strong 'work hard, play hard' mentality.

1 College Sophomore

Diversity: No point in trying to make friends here when you are automatically excluded and left out of the scene here. People may even question whether or not you go to school and are very selfish , though will still fake a smile constantly and unecessarily feign niceness, to the point where it is uncomfortable.

1 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: students have been transported by ambulance after drinking too much. Pretty bad here IMO. Escapism is a tough and real issue among this school

2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Courses are easy to follow but accommodate too much for non-hardworking students who would rather drink and rot away .

1 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Not worth living on campus, housing sucks and students are very stuck up. Do not waste your time

1 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Pointless, uninteresting and only select those who come from the same background as themselves. worthless

2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Student body is nothing but alcoholics, stuck up snobs, or insecure posers. Do not go here if you want to make real friends or feel included in campus life. Very stuck up on who gets invited to parties and dont waste your time here

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: Poor training and sub par athletic compared to other schools

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: It's great if you work for it. They just changed the housing system recently so it's kind of a mess. Now you're only guaranteed campus housing for two years. But for all four years, it's a point system. It sucks but if you work to get the points by attending events or apply for a special interest house, you will get a house for junior or senior year. Totally different system from other schools!

Greek Life: I'm in a sorority and I love it, but we have some issues in our Greek system. It's just not as solidified as it is at bigger schools, and people act like it's not at all competitive but it still is a little bit competitive. Because there are so few chapters, lots of girls are cut on the first day of recruitment from chapters they like. However, very VERY few girls don't end up in a sorority when they want to be in one. I've still loved my experience regardless of some issues behind the scenes.

Athletics: We all love UD basketball! Other than that, to be honest I don't pay attention to sports. I do love our Rec Plex though. I think it needs to be expanded (I would love a women's weight room), but it's nice that they're constantly updating machines and keeping it clean. I just wish there were a little more space.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love the University of Dayton. I have learned so many things about myself in my 3 years here and I am so sad to be headed to senior year. We have such a tight knit community yet you're always meeting new people. My social life is great, I love my sorority, and classes are tough but not impossible. I wish our housing system weren't so messed up though!

Health & Safety: UD is one of the safest campuses I know. There is an occasional incident here and there.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have loved my professors. They have become friends and mentors.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The alumni are very supportive and have helped me find an internship for next summer.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Most UD students live in campus housing all 4 years. I lived in Marycrest my freshman year and my dorm room was bigger than my room back at home. I felt that MC truly made my freshman year experience a great one! With more students being admitted to UD, housing has become a kind of stressful process but UD is adding a lot more houses and they're updating the neighborhoods too!

5 College Junior

Greek Life: I love my sorority and the friendships it has brought! What I love about the greek life at UD is that every sorority and fraternity are very friendly with each other. I also like how I have a ton of friends in different organizations from mine and I have a ton of friends who aren't in sororities and fraternities as well!

4 College Junior

Athletics: Basketball is huge hear! When it comes to March Madness, the school goes nuts. Football is not really a thing. But everyone really comes together when supporting UD from students, faculty, staff, even the in the local areas of Dayton!

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: It's a great place to really grow as an adult but still have fun!
