Academics: For the most part the academics are very good. There are a fair number of foreigner professors, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but many have pretty broken English. For the most part though the teaching staff are excellent and in combination with very good support resources Dayton has pretty strong academics. However, for engineering students there is not a lot of room in the schedule to take non math and science classes.

Diversity: Predominantly white middle to upper class people. Extensive diversity programs and groups as well as world culture events throughout the year. Diversity is almost universally accepted.

Drug Safety: People come to Dayton to drink, a lot. If you don't like getting trashed all the time you feel very left out.

Overall Experience: I love being apart of the Flyer family that is why I have not stopped my journey to finish where I started back in 2008. The professors will help you if you reach out to them and show that you care about your education. The courses have taught me things not only useful for my major but for life in general.

Overall Experience: As an Education major you work closely with the schools in the area where you can build relationships and network yourself for the future. My bonus in that is I am from the Dayton area so I am building so that when I do graduate I can return to the places I have worked closely with and search for a perfect fit in the school system.

Health & Safety: I feel safe around campus, when it begins to get a little darker I do become aware of my surroundings just to be safe. I do see the campus police patrolling the areas frequently so that helps to feel safe. We get emails about safety concerns or new information on various things quite often so that is helpful.

Campus Housing: I loved being in the dorm and apartment building my first two years at UD. However it does begin to cause headaches when you live with 5 other females. That I did not enjoy but being on your own at school and having certain freedoms was a life experience I would never change.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I see a lot of students around the Greek housing, I personally do not know a lot about that aspect of the campus however I have friends that are Greek and I love them. The houses are all over campus, you will know by the letters on the houses.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have been through a lot when it comes to schooling. I am returning to UD after being gone for 6 years and I could not be happier to finally finish where I began my journey. I will succeed at UD and my advisor is there to help me every step of the way.

Athletics: The Flyer spirit is huge at UD and it does not stop once you have graduated. You are a Flyer for life!

Health & Safety: I feel very safe on campus

Overall Experience: Overall, Its great and I love the school, but there are still some things I wish I could change

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I go to a good school so the career prospects are better than other schools

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The housing is great, but the system of how people get houses is awful. They need to change it. It is a hassle and I dont think anyone gets what they want. They should try using a lottery system or another form of assigned housing

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: there is an indifferent feel

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love the community and the people, but I do not like all the partying

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The Dayton flyers really know what it means to be great and pursue greatness. Here at the university of Dayton we have a true passion for sports

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Dayton is the Harvard of Ohio. we have all the best things you could ever want, academics, sports, good friends and a great time

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: There isn't really a bar/club scene at UD. If people go to bars it's usually on Wednesday or Thursday night. From what I've heard, the bars are pretty disgusting. However, they're pretty easy to get into and people have a decent time when they go.

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: On Fridays and Saturdays there are plenty of house parties in the ghetto, UD's student neighborhood. It isn't hard to get into a party at all, no matter what year you are. House parties at UD are nothing like house parties on other campuses. They're a great time and you're bound to make some new friends on a night out.

Academics: I have been challenged by but have enjoyed all of my academic endeavors at UD. Professors are helpful and the workload isn't unbearable. I have yet to pull an all-nighter. The study space in Marianist is great, and it isn't terribly hard to find a nice place to study elsewhere on campus.

Diversity: UD isn't very diverse. There are a lot of white, upper-middle class, Catholic students here. I don't think acceptance is an issue, though. No one cares about your race, economic background, religion, or sexual-orientation. Dayton is a friendly place and people are going to accept you no matter what.

Drug Safety: Alcohol use is very prevalent. However, no one is going to treat you differently if you choose not to drink. I have declined drinks at parties and no one has said a thing. I haven't physically seen use of any other drugs, but I know that marijuana and "study drugs" are both used fairly often.

Health & Safety: Public Safety always does a great job updating students of potential threats on campus. The Health Center and Public Safety work hard to keep students informed of ways they can contact someone if they're in a threatening situation and need help. I feel very safe on campus.

Overall Experience: So far my experience with professors has been great. Everyone has been very willing to help. I find that if you show you're working hard and putting forth the extra effort, the professor notices and will help you out in the long run. Every professor I have had has made it clear that they want me to succeed.
