If I could redo my undergraduate experience, I would totally pick The University of Dayton all over again. The school's sense of community and commitment to every student is absolutely incredible. Just about everyone on campus is open and friendly- it's incredibly easy to meet people and make friends. The school is a Catholic College run with Marianist values. The Marianists grow in faith through service and fellowship, which is great mission to run by because even those at the school who are Catholic, or religious at all, can participate in fellowship and service. Those two things are what build the incredible community environment at UD. If students are looking for a great school, with lots of opportunity, very friendly students and staff, that isn't focused completely on athletics or greek life, I 100% recommend they look into The University of Dayton!

I love the University of Dayton. What really makes it unique is the community aspect. As you walk to class each morning, you see more than a dozen of your closest friends, and then make a dozen new friends once you actually get to class. All of the professors are really helpful and want you to succeed, and most students are very academically oriented as well, but they also know how to party. Sunday through Thursday students will be up and doing homework into the wee hours of the night and Friday (sometimes Thursday) through Saturday almost everyone goes crazy. The student neighborhood (which we have fondly named "The Ghetto") is really welcoming and the upperclassmen and fraternities are always excited to help you have the best night possible. But for people not into the party scene, there are others like you too! There are lots of things to do on campus and in the city of Dayton. And finally, as you probably know, St. Patrick's Day is the best day of the year on campus at UD. Rated the #1 SPD celebration in the country, it's definitely something you don't want to miss out on. Thousands of students descend on the ghetto starting at 4 in the morning for some Irish merriment and jigging, and it's like nothing you've ever seen. In conclusion: UD is awesome. Join us.

There are a ton of intramural sports that are a lot of fun. Club sports are welcoming and more of a commitment than the intramurals. Men's Varsity Basketball gets a ton of support! If you want to get into the student section at the games, you have to get there at least an hour before the game starts. The student section is standing and cheering for the whole game. The RecPlex, AKA the athletic facility, is pretty nice. It has a lot of machines, an indoor track,a pool, futsol courts, and basketball courts. The only drawback is that it can get overcrowded at certain times so that it is hard to find a court or a machine. There are group fitness classes at the RecPlex as well run by student employees.
