3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Could have much better places on campus!

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Great options to choose from just wish there were better options that took PrePaid. Like if the Retreat or Plaza took PrePaid instead of only Knights Circle

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There is definately something to do for everyone here.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Mostly chain restaurants around the campus of UCF.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The University of Central Florida has everything under control

5 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I haven't had much problem with financial aid here

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Good variety of choices on campus from health to fast food.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It is great for first year students, but as you get older you want more space.

3 College Senior

Administration: the major issue for me was the issue of parking it seemed to have such a negative connotation and was quite a hassle.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: there was a lot of run around the first semester and every now and then there would be problems throughout other semesters as well. biggest issue was getting awarded grants half way through the semester i felt that those should have been given at the start.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of plaes to choose from around UCF!!

4 Recent Alumnus

Party Scene: There is plenty to do around UCF and in the Orlando area

3 Recent Alumnus

Administration: I can say that parking services was very strict. They did not play when it came to giving out parking tickets!

4 Recent Alumnus

Scholarships: Tip: Make sure you turn in all forms and documentation on time. Also fill out FAFSA as soon as possible. I had no problems throughout my undergraduate career.

Campus Food: There were many options to choose from however, if you had a meal plan, the dining halls did not serve the best quality food.

1 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I would not choose this school again. Not only did I have to fight for credit for previous course work, but it was like starting a four year degree all over again. (and I already have an A.A.S.) The cost is not worth the title on the degree anymore. The amount of strain and stress of dealing with trying to get things done-especially for what I am paying is ridiculous. I did not feel like an individual student at any time but rather a number they had to get out to keep up their reputation. They charge extra fees for taking on-line classes, when essentially that should be cheaper. Currently one class whose actually cost is about $300 is $700 because of non essential fees-which you cannot decline. Technology fee, an extra $100+ for distance learning, differential tuition fee, health fee, athletic fee (even though I do not use the gym etc. during semesters as a distance learner), and the list goes on adding up to more than $350 for each class taken.

Overall Experience: The quality of the courses have slowly been declining. The professors give more work than they can grade in a reasonable time fame. Class sizes are way to large to be anything more than a number to most of the teachers. Styles as well as grading varies greatly for each class. I would strongly suggest researching the professor before taking the class and throughly know their articular method of grading. I have even taken an on-line distance learning class that required students to do a group project, which made it necessary for us to meet in person. A difficult task if you are trying to take a class because you are home bound for a particular length of time.

The points system is not uniform. Some classes are 300 points, some 1000. If you are taking several classes at once you really have to be on top of each professor's syllabus. Know which classes tests outweigh essays/participation.

Overall Experience: In previous years a degree from this school would have meant more job prospects, however with the economic turn the there aren't too many jobs available.

For me the value of a degree from this school is quickly declining as the cost of attendance keeps rising and the possible income upon graduation will not meet my needs. The cost of attendance has risen to almost 3x from when I entered this school, with no improvements to my education. The money appears to be going to the administrators and the school building/growth development.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The security is okay. The campus has gotten so large over the years that I think they really cannot maintain a safe environment if someone wanted to commit a crime. The campus is beautiful and has many places for privacy/studying however with that comes isolated areas which are not secure.

UCF has a great communications service if there IS something going on, but there have been too many incidents surrounding the school.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The gym is great, plenty of equipment to keep a variety of athletic types busy. Available most of the time. Football is paramount at UCF with games widely attended by students and Alumni.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off Campus housing is a great option. The cost is much better for the space. You can get a roommate to help with cost while still having much more space and privacy. Availability depends on the time of year. I didn't have any help from the school finding housing but there are plenty of apps that can help find places available for rent.

I honestly do not see any many cons to living off campus. You can still participate in the many school activities while having freedom to do as you please in your own space.

Even if you have no transportation there are plenty of buses that run during school hours or a student can get a place close enough to bike ride to classes.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life isn't a huge part of UCF. However people who are in it seem to be very happy and made a lot of friends.

2 College Freshman

Athletics: Our school isn't very school spirited at all. It could definitely could get better with some help

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I do not live off campus yet but I am in fall and I found while looking for apartments that they are very pricy for the area, especially for college students.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Most places are chain restaurants, there could be more unique places.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
