Academics: Our Professors Train Us for Success – I'm in the college of health and public affairs at the University of Central Florida and I'm very satisfied with my education up to this point. In this college I have chosen to be a Legal Studies major, and my aspiration is to go onto Law school after college and become an attorney. A lot of my professors have very successful law firms and if they aren't practicing through their own law firms, they have connections with many other attorneys who can provide internships opportunities for students. The curriculum is held to a high standard in hope that the students of the University of Central Florida will be just as good as any other student from another institution of learning. Although the learning experience is by far the greatest I have ever experienced, the tuition has been hiked up many times and it becomes very difficult to meet the tuition especially with one parent working and the other out of work due to the bad economy.

Majors: Chemistry Ph.D – There is nothing else I can say except that it is difficult. There is nothing necessarily wrong with it but it requires a lot of work. It becomes enjoyable if you choose a research group with a project you like. The department is also luckily filled with nice people so they help make the experience feel less stressful.

Local Area: The City of Orlando from a Students Perspecitive – The local atmosphere is tourist based, surrounded by attractions such as Walt Disney World and Universal Studios being the largest of many in the city of Orlando. Small attractions such as Wet-n-Wild and the putting edge service time consumption and joyous fun for a vast range of age groups from young children to the older age groups as well. Although Florida has a history of being comprised of southern Caucasian families, over the past few decades immigration of Hispanic families have spread across the state. Such influx created Hispanic communities which in return brought cultural events such as the Medina festival which is held every year and the verbena festival which is widely advertised across the state via radio every year. Unfortunately, as far as sports is concerned there aren't many leagues or things like that without fees to pay. The city of Orlando has a positive attitude toward students.

Academics: Big School – The University is huge, at least to my standards. There are a ton of majors to choose from. The campus is very large and it stays up pretty late. Most areas may stay open till midnight or 1:00am but there are buildings which open 24/7. There is usually plenty of space in classes but this also means classes can be huge. Professors are average in my opinion and the workload give here is reasonable.

Local Area: The City of Orlando – University of Central Florida plays a big part into the city of Orlando but it is not the main attraction. Orlando basically has the option of amusement parks such as Disney or Universal which are sufficient for a while but not if you have went multiple times. There are things to do here and there but all will require a car for transportation. The public transport here is terrible because you can wait up to an hour for buses and if you intend to travel across town on a bus than plan much earlier for it may take a few hours. Nightlife is not so bad for there are a lot of bars which can be visited downtown. But overall the town is not so bad being that there are little things to do here and there.

Local Area: UCF is located in sunny Florida. Great atmosphere. Weather is beautiful. Locals are very friendly and welcoming. Obviously there is the local attractions like Universal Studios and Disney World. For all the sports fans out there, the Orlando Magic play in the brand new Amway Centre. Usually on the weekends there are local food trucks that locate in one area and sell food. Theres music and entertainment. Lots of fun for the kids. Safety wise, its very safe. Definitely recommend coming to UCF or the central Florida area in general! A++!

Majors: I completed by degree mostly on a regional campus, which saved a lot of time and money since I live over an hour from main campus. UCF does a great job in providing classes in their 20 plus campuses. I now attend main campus twice a week, which isn't to bad of a drive. I really look forward to completing my degree and my internship next year because I know it will help greatly in securing a job after graduation.

Academics: Art Education - Master's Track – My program allows for students to leave school with a teaching certificate in hand and ready to enter the work force. They also provide an internship program that allows students to get classroom experience and get to know their local school district. Faculty are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The workload is standard for any college class and I look forward to completing my degree.

Local Area: Orlando is the home of the University of Central Florida. A fairly large city with worldly known attractions, Orlando always has something going on for anyone. If you want to visit Disney World, a night club, or a quite coffee shop, Orlando has just the place. With near by cities and towns, everyone can find a place in or around Orlando.

5 College Freshman

Academics: My Point of View – You have one of the biggest buildings in the school to work with, it is great, professors are renowned professionals.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: Right in the middle of Orlando, Tourist attractions everywhere, great location.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I haven't had an internship yet. I do plan on applying for internships when I get towards finishing my degree. Internship will help me get my feet into the door. It will help me get the experience and knowledge that employers are looking for. My ideal scenario would be a paid internship.

4 College Senior

Majors: Actually Good – Lots of my friends have had internships, and if you aren't a doofus with a crappy GPA, there's plenty to search through. UCF's Office of Experiential Learning is actually really helpful, and the selection of internships pay well; if you have a functional brain and decent social skills, the internships are likely to turn into jobs.

3 College Senior

Academics: The professors are truly a mixed bag. If you get one of the few that speak English as a first language, you're off to a good start.. Probably. Much more likely, though, is the chance that you'll have someone who, though intelligent, has about as much grasp of the English language as Gary Busey has of his marbles. Heaven help you if you're in a technical discipline and need to be able to read the difference between a Zeta and a 2, or if you're one of those old-fashioned types that appreciates test questions worded in a direct and lucid manner.

All-in-all, the school isn't too bad academically, but one must prepare him-or-her- self to be a single number in a lottery of who survives post-college. Good luck.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: UCF is also known for being Under Construction Forever. Traditionally, UCF has been known for their engineering and computer science. Recently UCF has added Rosen school of Hospitality due to the strong influences of tourism in central Florida. I've choose UCF for its connivence to home and it is equipped with state of the art facilities and experienced and knowledgable professors.

1 College Senior

Local Area: Bro-Fest and Touron Convention – If you truly appreciate the art of the fist-pump, or if your childhood was so dementedly enjoyable that you feel the need to relive it in grownup skin, this could be the area for you. Just minutes from one of the worst international airports in all the nations, the University of Central Florida offers a diverse array of mind-and-spirit- numbing activities at a moment's notice.

The endless parade of Jersey Shore understudies and hot Elementary Education luddites put the icing on the cake with a dating scene that truly pisses in the gene pool.

So, if you're thinking about going to college somewhere that's also a great place to live, try NYU. If you want to be extruded through educational machinery with countless other peons and combated at every turn by the administration (I guess to prove your toughness?), UCF is for you!

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Orlando is known mostly for Disney World and tourism. The area surrounding UCF is not so 'touristy.' The community around UCF is fueled by UCF attendees and graduates. East Orlando was once a quite part of town, but now has grown to a thriving atmosphere catered to college students. With restaurants popping up from block to block and shopping centers easily accessible, it is hard for anyone to not find some place to eat or buy necessaries.

4 College Junior

Majors: Total Grade – Financial Aid isn't the most supportive when accurately assessing each students needs, due to large masses of student intake.

4 College Junior

Academics: Complete Assessment – Although the school is top notch with their student, the school is WAY to densely populated.

4 College Junior

Local Area: Total Grade – The University of Central Florida is a great school. The scenery is wonderful and the campus is vibrant with diversity and accommodations. It is a wonderful campus and has proven to make a difference on my life. One complaint, student services such as financial aid, admissions, and advising are always extremely busy.

5 College Freshman

Academics: It's definitely an invigorating environment! Teachers are always willing to help, and you learn alot.

5 College Freshman

Local Area: The Best Atmosphere. In orlando there's alot of diversity, great nightlife, good student population, and you can always find something to do that you love.

2 College Junior

Weather: Humidity sucks. It makes it so much hotter and it's for the majority of the year. Besides that the weather's good. It's usually sunny during the day, rains mid afternoon, and then clear again at night to go out!

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Plenty of attractive guys at this school. Seriously. I think that stands out alot just walking around campus. And they are all generally really nice and very sociable.

3 College Junior

Majors: Wish I Started Earlier – When I first started college I was jumping from major to major. If I had known and really understood what I was getting myself into I would chosen a different major and really focused.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
