Transportation: I am in Rosen Apartment and we have free bus service from our campus to main campus which is generally about 45 minutes away. If you drive to main campus there are unfortunate toll booths and a lot of traffic.

Campus Housing: Small and Comfortable – The Apollo dorms are awesome. They have a little living room area between two rooms that house two people each. The bathroom is between the rooms. I personally think this is the best, especially since the sinks are in the bathroom as apposed to Nike where the bathroom is in the middle, and the sink is in the room. Apollo is also so much closer to the middle of campus and classrooms than Nike. Overall, no problems with housing. Apollo's not so bad in price either!

Campus Food: Never Go Hungry – There are many different places and many different types of food located everywhere on UCF campus. There's a Burger King, Smoothie King, Asian Chao, just to name a few. And that's just in the Student Union! There are tons of places to grab a bite to eat, whether your in the business administration building next to Einstein Bros. Bagels or by the arena next to a Domino's pizza. Dining halls aren't half bad, either. The food is awesome!

Health & Safety: Complete Safety – I have never felt threatened, violated, or in harm's way to any degree while on University of Central Florida's Orlando campus. There are emergency boxes everywhere, so if ever are in danger, someone will come to you immediately. Also, they have a late night security officer that will take you to your car, or dorm and make sure you are inside before he leaves. That also gives me peace of mind knowing that I can use these services. It may be a big campus, but it definitely does not lack in security.

Transportation: I only use my car around the campus. but shuttle seems very nice

1 College Junior

Parking: Bad Bad Bad – it's always stopping me to go on a class right time.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: Drinking Is More Popular – The drug scene at Boston College is not really big, although it depends on who you hang out with. If people are doing drugs, they're usually just smoking. Drinking is a much more popular activity.

3 College Junior

Weather: Always Have an Umbrella! It is extremely hot and humid in Orlando for most of the year. Dress comfortably and carry an umbrella at all times, because a shower can happen at any time. Classes are not cancelled for rain but the university may close if there is a significant hurricane threat.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Kind of Confusing – Make sure to fill out the FAFSA on time. Keep up with credit hour and GPA requirements. The first semester is the most tricky when trying to set up your financial aid. Pay attention to your "To Do" and "Holds" lists.

Parking: Parking is a complete nightmare from about 10am until 2pm. They built another garage, but it hasn't made a huge difference in the parking situation. Tickets are given out very frequently. Carpool with other people as much as you can. If you live at an affiliated off-campus apartment complex, take the shuttle to school.

Campus Quality: Everything Is Great! UCF has a wonderful campus. The gym was just expanded last year. It offers a ton of different ways to stay in shape and is a great place to work out. The health center is state of the art. All of the buildings are architecturally pleasing and in good shape. The technology available in all the labs, classrooms, and the library is great. UCF has excellent facilities that meet every need a student could have.

Drug Safety: It's There, but It Does Not Dominate – I do not do drugs but I know that obviously there are kids that do. I do not believe it dominates life at UCF. Kids understand that drugs are a taboo now, so if they do do them, it is in the privacy of their homes/dorms and they definitely do not share that information unless it's with friends who do drugs with them.

Greek Life: VERY IMPORTANT – Greek life is beyond important to UCF. The greek life is what almost runs the school because they bring in so much money for UCF. Most students hate greek life because of the amount of influence they have and how they get away with everything negative that they do. Most students would agree that they definitely bring down the moral and ethical medium of the school because of their actions. I rate it an A+ because of how important greek life is to the school business, not because I feel that it is a good thing.

Party Scene: Parties and Clubs – In Orlando there are tons of clubs. Most of them are open to people 18 years of age or over, so pretty much everyone from the college can go. The clubs are always really cheap around here and are extremely fun. The parties are fun, also. There's good music and lots of fun people around.

Academics: I go to the University of Central Florida and so far I am pleased with the classes I have taken. I am an aspiring physical therapist, and the academic counselors here are a huge help when it comes to picking out classes. They really seem to care about your education and want to help as best as they can. They do a wonderful job.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: Finanacial Aid – I have not receive any thing from financial aid. Therefore, it will not be right to judge the program.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: School Experience – I enjoy my school very much. However, finding a parking spot at school can be a big task. I do not think that my school is no different from any other school because all of them are aiming for the same goal.

4 Recent Alumnus

Majors: Computer Science – One of the best departments in school and research is recognized world-wide. State-of-the-art equipments. Faculties of great standards and experiences

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Favorite Experience – State-of-the-art Recreation center and free for students. Monthly social activities on campus - games, prizes, events.

3 College Senior

Technology: The computers at my campus really slow and unreliable. Most of the time they are not available because they are not enough computers for students to use.

4 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: Free shuttle from neighboring residence communities. Free transportation on weekends to nearby shopping complex.

5 College Senior

Technology: Computer Lab – We have a really great computer lab on campus. There is over 5 different computer labs. We get free printing up to 40 pages a day (20 pages front and back). There is free wifi all over campus. People come into the computers to do homework or to go on Facebook.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Willing to Help – Even though UCF has 56,000 students, all of the professors want to get to know you and want you to go to their office hours if you need any help at all. I enjoy most of my professors lectures, but some of the science professors are really hard to understand so it is really helpful to go to the free tutoring offered on campus and the office hours.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Very Safe – I have never felt unsafe on Central Florida's campus even if I'm walking from the arena to Ferrell Commons at night. Around campus there can be some pretty sketchy activity and you have to remember to keep your doors locked at all times, but the campus police keep you well informed about all activity and are always present on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I really enjoy being a student at the University of Central Florida. I transfered here from another Florida school and it was the best decision I could have made. The campus is layed out really nice. It merges the old with the new and the surrounding area has a lot to offer. I've been happy with all the classes I have taken so far and there is a lot of help offered if you are struggling.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
