Technology: The Service Is Better Than Most Other University – Unlike many other schools, ucf gives its students the ability to have FREE printing, thus causing those 3 locations to be pretty busy. Other than that is someone doesn't fell like waiting then they can go to the numerous locations on campus that offers paid printing. There is Wi-Fi pretty much everywhere on campus. Sometimes a little slow but all in all it a pretty decent service.

Campus Food: Everything You Could Ever Crave – UCF has a very wide variety of dining options both on campus and off campus.

Athletics: Sports are becoming very popular at the University of Central Florida. The teams are working hard and showing much improvement over the past 2 years. Team spirit is evident across the campus. IM sports are also popular with the huge recreation center and sports fields on campus.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I've never done an internship. I want to be certain of what i want to do before i intern.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Every university values their football team as if they're gods. Football season is the favorite sports season for almost all schools. UCF isn't much different but we're definitely not the best team around. It's not like we always lose but winning is one thing we never got used to this past season. Basketball, there's a lot of hype around the fact that Michael Jordan's son plays for our team, but he isn't making any miracles happen. Our b-ball team is only alright. Soccer and track have been very successful this past year though.
School spirit is somewhat apparent for football but for other sports I don't see it much. Basketball has their own club, Rowdy Knights but with the size of our university you'd expect it would be a little bigger. I wish we were more passionate. As for our facilities I believe they're A+

Guys & Girls: Typical Campus – The campus is mostly a typical campus. There is the cute boys, the geeky boys, the atheltic boys, etc. Its nice to have a variety though.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I wish there were more liberal arts detailing music and fashion.

3 College Freshman

Majors: I Wish There Was More – Wish they had things dealing more with the arts such as music, fashion, etc.

Local Area: Orlando Is Home to So Much – Uhm theme parks anyone? Orlando is pretty much the capital when it comes to this and luckily at UCF we get discounts on all the fun. There are plenty of malls, restaurants, etc in the area. You can find so much to do, everything happens in orlando; concerts, sports events, you name it. With that said you'll hear about people running into celebrities at malls and such.

3 College Junior

Administration: Not Harsh – There is no harshness here. Police exist as in anywhere, but they seem understanding of the college-context.

3 College Junior

Weather: Not Much Rain, Sunny – Weather is pretty good at UCF. The more humidity and heat bothers you, however, the more you might disagree. During the summer, it rains a bit, but nothing too treacherous.

3 College Junior

Athletics: But, our football team does well. Basketball games have an OK attendance. And if it is some kind of consolation, our gym is often packed.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Its a Lifestyle – I always thought Greek life was fascinating even if it wasn't for me. I often party with a couple of the fraternities and sororities because we share mutual friends and they are quite friendly. Greeks are always trying to look for your better interest, meaning they want you to rush or pledge but they aren't overbearing and they do do good for the campus with social and volunteer events.

3 College Junior

Majors: Difficult but Rewarding – I'm an animations major though I'm still running through the pre-reqs to actually get into the program. The pre-reqs, which are the studio art classes and history courses, really test your core ability to draw and understand art and is necessary to get into animation; there's no point in wanting to do it if you don't like to draw. There is an animation portfolio review once you finish your pre-reqs to get into the main program and that is where most of your focus needs to go; while other majors worry about their GPA's, its your portfolio, YOUR WORK that speaks your deftness in the art field.

Overall Experience: I'm Stunned – UCF blows me away. As a transfer student, I came here not knowing what to expect out of myself but in one year, I've made great strides in my classes, made great friends with likeminded individuals, joined school committees, placed in a scholarship pageant, organized a block party, slept in a classroom for two nights during finals week, got a picture with my celebrity crush, performed spoken words in front of hundreds of people, partied, joined a statewide competition being judged by the Orlando Sentinel, the co-founder of Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios and won 2nd out of 30. I only SCRATCHED the surface my first year and the most impossible task would be to tell you everything UCF has to offer.

Administration: You Pay to Go to School; Please Don't Slack – Teachers have their own means of grading and leading a class from beginning to end but all share the same sentiment; do the work, study the material and you won't fail. Its a simple sentiment but they don't force it onto the student; you pay the tuition so its your choice whether or not you want to go to class. Failure to do so is really in the student's hands and if it happens, you can apply for grade forgiveness so the bad grade does not appear on your transcript and you can retake the class...though this cannot be used infinitely. If you went to a UCF orientation, they stress this until your head goes numb.

Off-Campus Housing: Great Opportunities. Close to Campus. Transportation Simple. UCF offers a lot of Off-Campus housing and has several helpful websites up to offer aid in finding housing. A big plus about UCF is the transportation. Buses run throughout the day back and forth from majority of the off-campus communities. It is VERY helpful for so many students.

5 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Very Fun – There are a wide varitey of clubs around UCF. Downtown Orlando is about 15 minuets away and there is Church Street down there which has at least 40 different clubs to choose from. Also in a few plazas there are some other clubs such a FUBAR, which is known for underage drinking. Most of the clubs on Church Street are 21+ but some are 18+.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Tons of Places – UCF is next to several small towns that offer a big varierty of food. University Boulevard is a long road right by UCF that has a bunch of awesome places to eat. El Cerro which is right on Univeristy has great mexican food and drinks.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: Gym Is Great – A lot of the buildings are older, but they are very clean. The gym is beautiful and new and has a wide varitety of machines and classes. Also the football stadium is very nice and new, along with the new UCF Arena.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Wedding Planning – I have an internship doing wedding planning with a local company, it is unpaid, and I have a lot of responsibilities. I usually do day of weddings, which is showing up the day of the wedding and helping coordinate the vendros and helping the bride with everything she needs. After doing my internship I have realized that I do not want anything to do with weddigns and I would like to do bigger corporate events.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: Trying to figure out how to get into UCF and which degree I want seemed to be a little difficult, I got different answers from several people. Overall I'm happy with a business degree because it is a very broad degree that can apply to several jobs. I want to end up event planning for somewhere like Amway Arena or a theme park and I feel my chances of getting a job are high.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drinking is really big around the UCF area, they have a lot of college bars, some that do not crack down on drinking ages, and some that do really fun bingo games at night. Smoking weed is pretty big, I do not think that other drugs are that big.

3 College Junior

Transportation: Traveling on Campus With Your Car – The campus is easy to travel through because of the circular layout of the roads. However, many traffic lights, limited parking, and lots of campus events affecting road closures makes for a lengthier travel time almost ANYWHERE on campus.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: University BLVD and Waterford Lakes – Between these two locations, you are sure to find an abundance of diverse cuisine that will match your taste buds and budget. Sweet! and Jeremiah's are the best places for dessert, frozen yogurt and italian ice shops respectively. They have plenty of deals and coupons available to meet student's needs. Lazy Moon serves large pizza. There are many places that are so crowded around UCF so waits for tables at sit-down restaurants may be lengthy. Go early!

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
