Overall Experience: What an Experience – The university of central Florida is a great school to go to. The campus is very diverse, there are many clubs and extracurricular activities opportunities.

Off-Campus Housing: Apartments Are Affordable – Finding an apartment near the university is an easy process, they are a lot of options. The university provides shuttle service for most of the apartments that are near.

Health & Safety: Pretty Safe – I always feel safe on campus. I have taken a lot of night classes and never had any problems. Although, I have never seen any campus security.

Transportation: The buses at UCF arrive every fifteen minutes at their stops, or so I was told. Be sure to give yourself at least thirty minutes for a bus to pick you up, and always have a back up plan if they do not show up at all. Buses here are tricky, one day they'll be there every fifteen minutes as stated before and sometimes they won't show up for an hour at best.

Overall Experience: It's a Wonderful Experience – The University of Central Florida is a great school, however you cannot allow your social life to dominate. There are several thousands of students enrolled at UCF, so making friends is easy, sometimes even too easy. Some of my favorite experiences have been here at UCF, such as the ropes course, swing dancing and just reading a book or hanging out with friends near the reflection pond. There are so many great things to accomplish here, you just need to keep your priorities in tact.

Greek Life: While being a part of Greek Life may seem glamorous and partying every weekend with large groups of people sounds like fun, it may be detrimental to your education. UCF is occupied by several frats and sororities, all neatly placed along Greek row. It's not important to be apart of a frat or sorority, but it's also not a bad thing to be apart of one. It all depends on how you choose to spend your time. Many non-Greeks are indifferent towards Greeks, but several non-Greeks are completely appalled at the thought of Greek life. They do help out around UCF with different tasks, which I have yet to see or experience, but they also are mainly known for their parties and get-togethers.

Campus Quality: The Gym – The gym is awesome! There are so many machines and weights. I really love the group exercise classes! I also really enjoy the lap pool.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: Pretty Good Selection – As far as bars and clubs go, there is a pretty good selection in the plaza (library, dungeon, fubar, and scoop), then not in the plaza there is devaneys. They all usually have pretty good deals, either on cover or drinks. They are open for anyone 18+. Although, I'm pretty sure that the plaza is being shut down pretty soon, so I don't know what there will be then. I've heard rumors about the station opening soon, but I don't know many details.

Majors: Awesome Instructors and Lots of Options! All of the psychology instructors are awesome! They're really willing to help every student that asks for help and are willing to meet up to discuss anything that will help you with classes or majors. What I recently discovered that I love is that you can major in psychology, but also elect to receive a certificate in something such as behavioral forensics, which will make your path more clear for either graduate school or going straight into a career.

Parking: Be Expected to Walk – Finding a parking spot is very difficult. So expect to walk a good distance to wherever you need to go..or better yet, live on campus!

Campus Quality: Different Perks – Our school has so many perks that make it unique. For starters students who live on campus and do not have a car can rent cars at UCF if they need to run errands or just have a car for the day!! I have yet to see another university that has that! Also, the UCF recreation center is so big, I do believe it is one of the top 5 recreation centers in the nation! The machines are all really high tech, some machines even create energy with every stride a student makes on it (like the eliptical), There are clubs for anything and everything that you may be interested in also!

Overall Experience: Whats Meant to Be Will Be! UCF is an amazing school! Each individual is in charge of creating their own experiences and opportunities and it is what you make of it. Choosing UCF was what was in my life plan, and every experience, educational, social, mental and spiritual has been wonderful, regardless of the struggles that came along with them! UCF provides a fun, youthful and motivating environment that allows you to enjoy being on campus to participate in extra curricular activities or even to study. Though its a youthful campus, you can study anywhere on campus, and it is clear that UCF promotes education first, and with that comes all the secondary opportunities.

Academics: When you first get into UCF and list Nursing as a major, you are a nursing pending major. You are not completely a Nursing major until you apply to the program and get accepted. There are prerequisites to the major and some are hard and some are easy, it all depends on how much work effort you put into it. However, always remember that there are TAs (Teacher Assistants) and professors themselves that are there to help you. If you have a question feel free to ask because they are there to help you and make sure that you understand. Also, the school provides many tutoring opportunities so make sure to look into that when you attend UCF.

Health & Safety: Campus Safety – I have never felt unsafe at the UCF campus, not even at night. It is a big campus, but it is a legit circle so if you get lost just walk one way and you'll find a place on campus that you know and just go from there. At night, they have SEPS. SEPS is a night escort system that runs all night. If you are having to walk late at night and don't feel comfortable doing so, just call SEPS (number on the back of your UCF student card) and they will come by as soon as they can to pick you up.

5 College Junior

Campus Food: Best Food for a College Campus – UCF has dozens of different food places to eat. There are 2 dining halls that you can have meal plans for as well as a full food court in the student union. You can use your UCF card to pay for the food on campus. There is also a frozen yogurt place, hibachi, as well as dominos.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Not the Biggest Rah Rah School – UCF sport teams have been getting better so there has been more student involvement. However with over 50,000 students you barely see that number during football tailgates. Football and basketball are the biggest sports on campus. School spirit could be better though

Technology: Free Fast – There are many computer labs in various buildings around campus. SGA created the printing lab in the student union where students can print out up to 60 pages for free. The internet is usually fast unless the library is packed but theres wireless in every building. I recommend bringing a laptop to take notes in class as well as work on homework.

Weather: Going to college in Florida, especially Orlando is great! The weather is warm to hot all year round and its such a relief not having to deal with snow for example. Only time of year when its a little much is summer when its very hot and thunderstorms in the afternoons

4 College Junior

Party Scene: The Plaza – There is a shopping center across from UCF known as the plaza that has 3 bars in. Also downtown Orlando has great clubs and bars for 18 and up and well and only 21 clubs

2 College Sophomore

Parking: You can only park on campus of you have a parking permit and they are pretty expensive (not sure exact price, i have never bought one) other wise you will get a ticket. If you are a living on campus with a car you will need a parking permit. There are many garages located around campus but give at least 30 mins to park before class. There are shuttles to and from the surrounding housing complexes.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The Golden Rule – UCF is all about the Golden Rule, which is basically any plagiarism will get you thrown out. Parking is terrible and tickets are incredibly steep.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Lots of Choices – UCF is a huge campus so there are a lot of places to choose from. You can decide what part of the campus you will spend the most time in and live nearby.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Mixed Kinds of Housing – Surrounding the University of Central Florida are a variety of apartments, with a wide range of prices. While many students stay on campus, finding an apartment off campus is pretty easy.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Confident About My Major – I changed from Health Science Pre Clinical to Health Services Administration just because the classes became too difficult for me. I plan to stick within the health field, as I won't have a problem finding a job. I'd like to manage a hospital.

5 College Junior

Campus Quality: Recreation Center Is Excellent – UCF recently added on to its recereation center and the place is even bigger and better than ever. When you walk in and notice the additions, you think you're in LA Fitness. There are raquet ball courts, tenni courts, basketball, swimming pools, classrooms, etc. Love it!

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
