Off-Campus Housing: There is campus affiliated housing and it is kind of expensive but that's just the way the economy is. I heard getting a house and splitting with your friends is the best way to save money, but you have to have a car. If you don't have a care campus affiliated housing is pretty nice because of the busing system it offers.

Off-Campus Housing: There are lots of options in off-campus housing around UCF but a lot of them are very expensive and some only offer furnished apartments.

Drug Safety: It's College – A lot of people go out and party and for the most part are drunk but again there those who do and those who don't. If you can have fun sober around the idiots that are drinking and making fools of themselves you will be fine.

Health & Safety: Easy to Be Safe – UCF has a beautiful campus and it is easy to feel perfectly safe during the day. No crime ever occurs on campus other than bike theft but the campus is eerie at night. There are emergency posts, safety escorts and a free bus to the bars so its easy to stay safe. The campus could just be a little better lit a night.

Scholarships: A lot of need based scholarships. Which is average, I think, for most campuses, but does little to help those students hailing from a large middle class family that can't support them through college. Especially since "need" and "minority" have become synonymous.

Party Scene: The Orlando area has a ton of things to do late at night. Activities in the immediate vicinity of UCF are rather limited, which is why I didn't give this a perfect score. But if you're willing to drive out 30 minutes in any direction, you're sure to find tons of things to do.

Health & Safety: Crime and Safety – I never feel unsafe on campus, although I don't feel comfortable leaving my belongings unattended for any length of time, whatsoever. There have been thefts - people breaking into cars - from time to time. And I've noticed that some students have little regard for other's property. But overall, I always feel comfortable on campus, regardless of time of day. A safe ride is always a call away and the university issues mass texts alerts of possible driving or safety hazards on, or near, campus.

Parking: Completely Unecessary for Any Student – It is possible to have a mental break down before even entering the parking lot. The permit costs are extremely high especially since the security doesnt even really check to see if there are parking decals on all cars in the lot.

Administration: The school isn't very strict at all. I have seen students obnoxiously screaming/talking throughout the halls disturbing classes and there is never any consequences. There is barely a reason to pay for a parking decal since the school security or police don't even check.

Local Area: Orlando is a city full of diversity which makes it very hard to be bored. The University of Central Florida is a nice school but there is hardly diversity with in the student body. The school does try to expand by having cultural events and on campus parties for the students.

Weather: Florida has fairly nice weather but is subject to afternoon thunderstorms.

Administration: Rules are usually enforced but everyone gets a warning.

Scholarships: Fairly Easy, and Generous. I received a scholarship from UCF as well as government financial aid that covered all of my college fees. Processing was simple and forms I required were easy to obtain. The only thing to be wary of is the fact that it's one office, for a giant school. Go early, be patient. It usually isn't too terrible, but don't surprised if there's a wait either.

Administration: We Party, and We Study! UCF Police have a very low tolerance of underage drinking and substance abuse. IF you're caught, serious consequences can quickly be taken and I know someone who lost their housing even after they were proven innocent. In housing there's a general rule about late night noise levels, they aren't strictly enforced, but if someone complains and the problem ensues, a generally peaceful resolution is reached.

Guys & Girls: From Hipsters to Pledge Boys. UCF hosts a pretty diverse range of girls and guys. There are the athletes, the hipsters, the hippies, the party crowd, the book worms, the artists, the musicians, the theatre geeks, the gaming crowd, the street performers, the awkward kids, the social butterflies. If you think it may exist, it definitely does at UCF. A lot of people are looking for a party, but just because we're labeled a "party school" doesn't mean everyone does. We're a pretty little melting pot.

Technology: Computers are all pretty good. Most work, every now and then some labs have a few down. The printers work fine and everything is available pretty much everywhere. The network is great. You can get wireless almost everywhere.

Overall Experience: UCF is a pretty good school and they offer many different things to the student body. I enjoy hanging out in the Library and doing my work. There are many computers and so many books that I can use for research. I also really enjoy the Student Union because it offers free printing and gives out free scantrons for tests which is great because I don't have to pay!

Athletics: I don't partake in many athletic events but the program sees to be quite good.

Health & Safety: Safety First! Ucf has its own police department that patrols on the campus and surrounding areas which provides a sense of relief.

Local Area: The Scene – Orlando is a huge city with a plethora of things to get into. I constantly discover new and exciting areas of the city whenever I get lost. Orlando is known for all of the tourists becuase of the abundance of attractions and that adds to the vibrance of the city.

Majors: Loving My School – I love my school and my program. I would do it all over again but I just hate the advisers because they do not care about it and just think what is in THEIR best interest.

2 College Junior

Transportation: Inconvenient Off Campus Shuttles – UCF offers an off campus shuttle service to and from certain apartment complexes. It's a great option for students who are on campus for a limited time of the day, don't have a car, or don't want to deal with parking. It sounds like a great idea, but when put into practice, you're left with mediocre service and being late to class. Unless it's an absolute necessity, then carpooling would be a better option. I understand why parking is always a hassle now that I've experience off campus living.

Transportation: Bus Bus Bus.. There are only buses that take you around campus or to dorms.Other than that it is expensive to take anything else.Gas is expensive.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
