Campus Quality: Everything Is Amazing – The gym at UCF is amazing. It is eco friendly and LED certified. They are constantly adding new equipment for the students. The leisure pool looks like something from a resort. It is huge and a great place to go lay out and relax. There are two dining halls, three subways, a few sit down restaurants, and a sushi bar on campus. There is a nail salon, a hair salon, and two pharmacies. UCF has everything.

Athletics: Sports Are Fun – I love going to sporting events. They are fun to watch and have a great time with friends. The athletes love the games they play and are very well trained.

Overall Experience: It's a magnificent school, I'm glad I'm attending.

Athletics: Need a Bigger Stadium – All of our athletic department's are awesome, except for our football stadium. It reminds me of a Tuna can.

Drug Safety: Not Too Many Drugs – Drugs aren't really a huge thing at our school. The school has great programs against drugs.

Athletics: It's All About the Game Some Days – Sports are HUGE here. It's such a big deal that traffic has to be diverted by our police to ensure safety and order. In particular, whether it's football or basket ball, expect huge crowds, parties, tail gaiting, side events, specials, you name it. We even have a VIP room called The Black and Gold just for higher paying attendees or special guests to use for the events, etc. that has it's own open bar and plasma screens everywhere to watch the games. We have even another gym just for the atheletes and training fields and a local catering company for their events so attendees can get food from. We have our own Brighthouse Stadium for football and a baseball field, soccer field, olympic pool, and training fields, track and field, etc., etc. Almost no sport goes unnamed here. We even have a rowing club and lakes for cannoes and places for the volleyball team to practice. We even have a dance team too and water polo.

Local Area: Nice Area and Parks, but for More Excitement, You'll Have to Drive Pretty Far – Shopping is pretty nice in the area. Lots of well known brand stores and in downtown Oviedo some boutiques and art alleys. Two good theatres nearby, a plethora of restaurants, several parks nearby, like Blanchard Trail, or Oviedo Sports Complex, Rippin' Riverside Skate park, and a laser tag arena called Hard Knocks. For more interesting shops or events or attractions, you'd have to drive further out to downtown Orlando or Winter Park for nightclubs or bars and music cafes like Austin's Cafe, which serves organic and vegan food as well as having local jazz artists play, etc. Back Booth Bar holds nightly events like '80's music dance club night or nerd-fest musical performances from local rock bands and techno, electronic, and ambient music players and more. Down in Kissimee and International Drive we have all the major attractions Florida is famous for, from Disney to Sea World, Wet 'n Wild, Universal, Islands of Adventure, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Wonder Works and more. There and even in downtown Orlando and Winter Park are plenty of Museums, big and small, and a drive or so away from UCF you can reach the nearsest beach, Cocoa beach. So whether it be a nice day at the park or mall, or you want a real adventure at a theme park or some night life fun, all are within reach. Just depends on how far out you're willing to drive. Note, students can buy most theme park tickets or concert tickets at a discount in our student union box office.

Administration: Punishments Are Expected for the Deed Done and Severe, Though Some Get Away – Police on campus are like hawks when it comes to parking or campus events. No one dares to cross them without expecting severe consequences. Expect your car to be towed if you park at a 24-hour reserved parking zone anyday, especially if you do it repeatedly in one week like an old high school classmate of mine did there. They are privy and aware there are under age drinkers around, so if you get caught by the Resident Advisor of your dorm or the police, be ready for a serious punishment, even if it is a first offense. As for campus events, no horseplay or suspicious looking activity, as these officers don't play around when enforcing the peace and order in the area. Yet, mind you, some get away here with doing things if they are really sly, so watch out if you walk by yourself at night. Not a safe thing to do, for there have been carjackings randomly at apartment complexes and garages on campus and off campus as well as sex-offenders assaulting female students on rare random occasions, even once next to the police station and no one helped the victim.

Off-Campus Dining: A Melting Pot of Options – The off-campus dinning options are pretty nice. Alot of places offer coupons or discounts every so often or on a daily basis to students from our university. One great place is this Chinese restaurant called Luya's which has a very healthy menu items at fair prices all day, but in particular they give a good discount for students on lunch combos. There are frozen yogurt places nearby, like Ikiwi, and they give you punch cards so that after you've bought a certain amount of times or yogurts, you get one free or a discount on one greater than six ounces. There's also a Mexican restaurant called El Cerro that has very good meals at cheap prices for the amount they serve. There are many pizza or Italian shops scattered in the area and they dish out tons of coupons every month. Even the local Neighborhood Walmart has some to-go food items at good prices for students, like large subs for two people for five dollars and personal salads of a few kinds and rotisserie chicken and sides to go with them and much more. Thai food is in the area too as well as a Japanese restaurant across the street and next to the UCF Arena and several cafes too. Even a few miles down at either direction, you'll find even slightly higher end dinning options if you'd like a nicer place to dine for a celebration or night out or a date. There are shuttles from campus on the weekends to Waterford Lakes Plaza where you'd find Red Lobster, Amigos, Macaroni Grill, Thai Singah, Kirin Sushi, Panda Express, and much more, all with a nice movie theatre in the same plaza to finish a nice weekend off. Lot's of options, all with convinience in mind and something for all price ranges, taste preferences and more.

Overall Experience: Great School With Great Environment – UCF been one of the biggest schools in florida makes it really easy to adapt because there's a lot of people you get to meet that means more people you can either study more and get help and find an easier way to keep studying.

Diversity: A Lot of People, a Lot of Culture – since UCF has approximately 56,000 students and is located in florida there is always going to be a lot of diversity and that is what makes it so great, you're always going to meet people that share or have the same interest as you do

Athletics: Not being a huge sports person myself, I cannot say how good our althletics department is, but I can say they have nice sports facilities and nice gyms for atheletes. There is a good amount of school spirit and student involvement.

Weather: what it's really good about UCF is that since is located in central florida the weather never gets too cold, theres no snow by the end or fall or the beginning of spring and the rest of the year is just like a beach weather perfect to wear sandals, shorts, and a regular shirt, so after a long day of study you can just go to your house and relax in the pool

Diversity: I attend the South Lake and Leesburg campuses for UCF, and I have seen a great deal of diversity. Coming from a small private school, I was almost overwhelmed with the diversity I experienced. In a few of my classes, a little more of a third of my classes were made up of minority students. There are also many of different economic backgrounds. There are some that come from well off families and others that come from families where they have children and struggle a bit finacially. It has been a good experience to see so many people from different backgrounds uniting in group projects, class discussions, and other assignments.

Campus Quality: Everything Is Modernized! UCF is a fairly new school so all of the facilities are modern and high-tech. The Student Union is loaded with big screen TVs in the cafeteria which provide musical entertainment while you're enjoying your lunch. The Gym has 2 floors with 2 pools(Recreational and Olympic), an indoor track, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, and plenty of advanced equipment and free group exercise classes for you to choose from. The library is HUGE with 5 floors and a ground floor as well and has plenty of computers, private study areas, and group rooms that you can check out as well.

Guys & Girls: Beautiful People Everywhere! UCF has over 50,000 students! It's hard not to find someone good-looking within sight with numbers like that. Also, there's a lot of variety. You like 'em brown, yellow, Puerto-Rican or Persian? If not, trust me, there's even more to choose from :-)

Parking: Tons of students means tons of cars on campus. The only thing worse then the parking situation is the traffic leaving campus. Parking is horrendous.

Academics: SI Is Great – Most classes you will be doing lots of independent learning. UCF offers lots of tutoring opportunities for students who may be falling behind.

Academics: Not Great – Professors are a hit or miss. Classes often jam packed with students. Professors delegate most of grading to TAs which can very detrimental to your grades. Overall, some professors are okay, few excel, but most are not great.

Party Scene: Tons of Options – Downtown Orlando has tons of options. Lots of variety and diversity give UCF the upper hand over most places.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
