Parking: There is just a very strict limit as to what we shall be doing. Costs for parking are relatively high, constant parking tickets are given for unnecessary reasons, and poor directions are given to any visitors, students, and s forth.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: I have not personally seen students engage in drug use or under age drinking. Policies against underage drinking are strictly enforced so students usually do not risk it. There are incidences where there have been underage drinking caught in dorm rooms but it has not seemed to be a huge problem.

Weather: Florida weather is very abrupt and sudden so in an instance the weather can turn from sunny to rainy. When it begins to rain, it is hard to switch from class to class because UCF is an outdoor college. Students have to walk in the rain in order to get from class to class. This can ruin a students day if they have to sit in class totally wet.

4 College Junior

Technology: The computer labs at UCF are usually full but there are enough of them at campus to find a computer. If a student is unable to find a computer then if they have their own laptop, they can freely connect to the UCF internet. The network speed at times can be slow because of the amount of students that may be using it at that time. However, the internet is quite reliable.

5 College Junior

Administration: UCF allows their students to freely express themselves academically and artistically. They allow students to create clubs and those clubs always have a spot in the back of the student union where they can recruit other students. I have never felt restricted by any policies at UCF. Campus police are also quite friendly.

Local Area: Orlando is a huge city. There are a great variety of things to do. Tons of concerts, tons of restaurants, and so many theme parks. It's not the cheapest place to explore but it is a lot of fun.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: There are ton of options scattered all over campus. It's easy to find something for anyone no matter what you're craving.

3 College Senior

Academics: I've enjoyed the teachers and staff at UCF. The easiness of the cirriculum range depends highly on the teacher. The registration process was pretty straightforward but the availability of needed classes was always a problem, making some fall behind on their target graduation date.

3 College Senior

Majors: I am a radio/television journalism major. The school at UCF is decent but it is hard to get the classes you need when you need them. Not sure if it is a staffing issue or there are way too many students picking that major. I've done two internships so far but had to go out on my own to get them. The school was not real helpful with that. Did enjoy the teachers I had and the classes were challenging but I learned a lot.

4 College Senior

Transportation: The transportation is good around UCF. There is a UCF bus that goes around a few miles radius of the school, stopping at many of the student housing apartments. The Orlando public busses also run in and around the area.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: I live off campus but outside of the student housing range. There are not enough dorms on campus and are very expensive. The student housing around the campus seems to draw in a lot of trouble, drugs, robberies, and rapes. It is not hard to journey a few miles farther into areas where there seems to be a good mix of students and non-students. The prices are average for Florida. In this case you have an unfurnished apartment and are not on the UCF bus route so you need to have reliable transportation. This also means you have to drive in through bad traffic, park in crowed parking garages, and pay for expensive parking permits. This is a real issue at UCF.

Technology: Never had trouble on the things I've done but I live off campus and use the computer at home most often. On campus I use my tablet and cell phone to do more minor things. It works well on most occasions.

3 College Senior

Diversity: Many different races and religions are represented in the UCF community and the surrounding neighborhood. All seems to mesh well in my opinion.

Health & Safety: Since UCF is such a big campus, I call it a city. Police are always on campus, meaning they have their own building and everything. They will escort you to your car if you don't feel safe, especially if you're a woman taking night classes. They respond within 90 seconds when they're called or when a button is pushed on the poles setup throughout campus. The police were very quick when responding to the incident that happened with a student on campus. If they had responded a minute or two later the situation would have had a completely different outcome. I feel secure on campus knowing there is always going to be someone there to help if need be.

Local Area: Living in Orlando the greatest attractions are obviously at the theme parks. They're a great way to spend the day! Since I do not care for the beach; Water parks are awesome on a hot day! There are so many places to shop for every type of style, there is ALWAYS something to eat while out. I love it here.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: The amount of help I receive on starting a clear, direct path to my career is incredible, Being a biomedical science major this is very important. I don't feel like I have to do this on my own!

5 College Junior

Diversity: The University of Central Florida is extremely diverse, the students seem very welcoming and non judgmental. There are students from all types of economic, religious, and racial backgrounds but somehow every student can meet other students who will enrich their college experience and help them see the world in a new way.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have had only positive experiences at the University of Central Florida. The campus police officers are more than helpful but are also able to maintain a secure environment to learn. These officers are never overbearing and manifest a professional attitude.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Have difficulty finding some since I'm just starting.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: It's florida. The weather is nice, but I hate it when it rains a lot.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: I have not yet encounter a problem, but it may be because is summer. However, I have heard it is a nightmare on fall and spring.

4 College Junior

Majors: I think the most difficulty about my admission was knowing how to start and where to go after applying. After applying everything became very easy and smooth. You have to network with the school in order to get where you need to go. But my overall experience wasn't so bad at all.

3 College Junior

Majors: I haven't had an internship. But I will need one toward the end of my senior year. I believe a internship is a great opportunity because it haves you more hands on expirence on how things will be when you become in that profession. When your a student studying and talked to about your career, it's not the same as when you have an hands on expirences. That's how people learn better.

4 College Junior

Majors: I am very happy with my program of study. If I have any questions or concerns they will direct me the right way. I couldn't be any more happy with my choose. My career goal is to work my way up the ladder to being the best probation officer there is in the state of Florida. Once I graduate with my BA in criminal justice, I don't think I will have any problems in finding a job in my field.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel very safe at the University of Central Florida.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
