Off-Campus Housing: there are smaller quieter communities that are very nice to live in. however they tend to be further away from campus.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: Beautiful campus, you have to walk to most everything on campus but it is not a bad walk.

3 College Junior

Transportation: The campus shuttles can be unreliable but they are free.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: There are more problems off campus with security. Also they can be prevented if people take precautions.

2 College Junior

Technology: There are 3 computer labs in the school that have free printing- black/white printing, 100 free pages per week. Sadly, if you do not use all the 100 pages in a week, the pages you did not use does not roll over to the next week. I wish it rolled over because I do not always use all 100 pages every week, but then other weeks I need more than 100 pages. The main computer lab in the student union opens late (9 am). There are lots of people who need to finish or print out their homework or notes before class and are at the union by 7-8am. The computer lab needs to open early (7 or 7:30 am, the earliest class starts on campus is 7:30am). There is another computer lab people can work in, but it is far from the classrooms. Also, the printers do not print clearly when it comes to pictures. The pictures tend to be blurry, even though it appears clear on the computer screen. There needs to be more free computer labs around campus (there are a couple of other computer labs around campus but you pay to print). There definitely needs to be a free printing in the library. So yeah- free printing helps save students money!
The network may be slow during finals or midterms, but it is usually fast or decent speed.
It is good to have a personal laptop so you can study anywhere around campus. Have your own printer too because not all the computer labs have free printing and not all free printing computer labs are open 24/5.

Scholarships: Tuition is way too expensive. Also, the scholarships they give out really only go to those who are poor or have really high GPAs and are involved in lots of activities. Applying for FAFSA is helpful though.

Guys & Girls: There is a huge diversity in school so you can make friend from all over the world. Everyone is really friendly and helpful.

4 College Junior

Transportation: There are many bus routes so you can probably find one that fits you.
Usually they don't take to long in between buses.

Technology: There are many computer labs all over UCF which makes it easier for people who want to do homework or study. These labs are well equip and well maintained.

Party Scene: There are many areas that are for the 18 and older age group. There are also party bus services are not expensive and allow you to party at your own convenience and drive you back to the meeting spot hassle-free. The students here are always throwing parties as well so there is never a dull moment at UCF.

3 College Senior

Technology: The computer labs are set up nicely as well as the printing labs. The printing lab always has students printing out slides for class so arriving early to print is imperative. The computer labs are usually never crowded except for when final week approaches.

Weather: This is Central Florida so expect bright and sunny skies for the majority of your stay. It can get really nasty with the thunder and lightning occasionally. The school has a text messaging service which warns students and faculty if the weather is really nasty. Classes are hardly ever cancelled though. Winters are a hit or miss. A couple of years ago, it was reliably cool in the 30s. This year, it may have reached somewhere in the high 40s but that temperature didn't last. Summers and falls are very hot so be prepared to bring a hand towel or wash cloth around to dry off after walking around campus to get to your class.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: I don't feel unsafe when I'm on campus and there are many security alerts that are available to students. I sometimes feel a little unsafe when I see how often safety alerts are sent out though.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: There are several options to choose from on campus, but most of them are quick serve. They are not too expensive but many are sandwich or fast food shops. They can get kind of busy, which can be difficult on a tight schedule.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There is a huge variety over at Central Florida. People from all over the globe attend here. You can expect to find your urban, country, and southern men here as well as women. I've come across some international students as well and they are interesting in terms of their speech and the drive they have to pursue their dreams. The women here are exceptionally beautiful and is a treat to just be surrounded by them and exchange smiles.

Off-Campus Dining: There are multiple eateries in the campus vicinity. They range in low to high prices with fast serve and sit down dining. Some do offer discounts for students.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are many options for off-campus housing in the campus areas, but the cost of living is high and the quality of the facilities is so-so. Parking at many of the locations can be horrendous and depending on the location, traffic can be terrible to get to campus. Overall, there are at least multiple options and they are fairly safe to live in.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: There are some frays and sororities but they are not as emphasized or looked highly upon compared to other colleges. Recently they have had issues with the laws, but there are some good major specific frat/sororities.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: There are a wide variety of athletic equipment and a great deal of grounds to train on for a huge number of sports provides at the school. The students are very supportive of the various athletic teams and the games are advertised around campus.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I received some financial aid, but could not really get enough!

3 College Senior

Administration: It's easy to not get into trouble at UCF, but if you're caught doing anything they take seriously, you're screwed. UCF doesn't play games with underage drinking, drugs or cheating.

3 College Senior

Technology: There are a bunch of computers, but you can't expect to find one every time you go to the labs. In the evenings or mornings, you'll be fine finding one, but don't even bother in the afternoons

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: Its wayyyy too expensive for what you get out of it. As a freshman, it's pretty convenient to be close to classes and to get used to life on your own, but if you're an upperclassmen, you typically move away from campus. The apartments around UCF are much cheaper and have shuttles to get you to campus without having to park (which is awful here). The dorms on campus don't typically have any amenities of their own; you'd have to go to the gym or pool on one side of campus for that kind of stuff. They usually do fun events, but it's more focused on freshman than anything. They're a great way to meet people, but once you have buddies, get out and save your $

5 College Senior

Diversity: There are soooo many students here that you can find people who are interested in almost anything that you're interested in. We have a ton of multicultural clubs as well as professional clubs. There are all kinds of people that go here from rich to poor, young and old, and all kinds of cultural backgrounds.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
