Campus Quality: University of Central Florida is in constant motion. The campus is as beautiful as it's students. The students here have a very high interest in each other and work together at achieving similar goals and providing support for every aspect of our future rather it be academic or career oriented. We strive to keep our connection and network through each other, building our social experience as well as our potential careers.

Campus events are constantly held outside of our student union allowing each individual to visually acknowledge the support that is offered and the opportunities available for personal growth. As a family of students at the University of Central Florida we push to succeed as a body of successful academics.

Transportation: The transportation is very easy to use. There are a large amount of buses that take students to surrounding apartment buildings and also around town to places like the mall and grocery store.

Drug Safety: The drug scene at UCF is not one to be very concerned about. There are of course going to be offenses but it does not seem to be out of control. These are college students who enjoy drinking and occasionally getting high. Although they do no usually bother the students who do not partake in these acts.

Transportation: Everything at the University of Central Florida is directly within walking distance. They conveniently place the cafeteria and many other restaraunts, the gym, and a convenience store within 5 minutes of walking distance from housing. If one wishes to venture off campus, the bus system is running ALL DAY every day. Cars are a luxury and are really not necessary if a student lives on campus.

Academics: I am currently a first year engineering major at University of Central Florida. The staff have done their best to make the enjoyment enjoyable with a very light workload as they get us accustomed to engineering. It is gradually increased over the course of the year in order to ease us into the flow of work. Opportunities are boundless because of UCF's involvement with many upper level engineering organizations such as IBM and Google. Many students find themselves in internships after their Junior years and in jobs directly after graduation.

Academics: The Introduction to Engineering program at UCF aims to make new engineers really interested in the major through hands-on activities and peer-to-peer interaction. It is amazingly fun and informative program that I will remember for years to come.

Majors: I love my program thus far! The staff and my peers are very supportive of one another and are always motivating each other that all the hard work will pay off in the end! We are held to high standards to complete our work with integrity and on time, and have gone through a case study experiment, to see which students would be most fit to represent out school at the NASPA conference. We also have to complete 2 internships to earn our degree, which definitely gets us out into the work force to see our likes and dislikes and to network.

Majors: The process of getting into my program was that I had to do well in my undergraduate years (good GPA, in good standing), write a personal statement of why I wanted to be involved in the higher education field, provide a resume, as well as 3 references, and take the GRE test and have a competitive score. The most important criteria was our personal statement explaining our involvement in student affairs as an undergraduate. A tip for admissions, is don't wait until the last minute to turn in everything, especially asking a person for a letter of recommendation!

Majors: I am extremely happy with my program thus far. The staff and my fellow peers are all very supportive and accessible to/of one another. My career goals are to be a director of a department (hopefully student conduct office) to help improve the lives of students if they make a mistake. I don't have many reservations of finding a job after I graduate, but higher education is a growing field.

Parking: You have to get to school really early to park. the parking garages are always full.

Scholarships: The office is extremely busy and they try to get you out as fast as possible. I only received half of my aid and I'm waiting on the rest.

Academics: I'm currently studying to be an elementary school teacher. So the workload and curriculum is demanding. I wouldn't expect anything less from the professors who are teaching the future teachers in our schools.

Guys & Girls: I don't really socialize at school but people seem pretty average and normal

Scholarships: Financial aid went pretty smooth, the only complaint I have is not getting enough money! Having to pay for my own books and a class is not good

Health & Safety: I feel safe, but in the nights of course no one feels safe on a huge campus. Everything can always be better

Campus Food: On the main campus, there are several dining outlets that offer quite some variety aside from the dining hall. Everything from Chinese, to Mexican, to Italian, to Middle eastern and more are represented in the dining choices available on campus. The Rosen Campus has one restaurant, however it doesn't accept the meal plan. Most people that live on the Rosen Campus will just usually cook for themselves.

4 College Junior

Technology: On the Rosen Campus we have free printing in the SGA lab, we have several computer labs (as well as computers in the library), and we have wifi in the classrooms and in the dorm common areas. However the Wi-fi can often be a little spotty and isn't always strong in the common areas. Since we already have to use ethernet cables to get internet in our rooms, it would be nice to have an internet jack in the living room too for when the wifi isn't working as it should.

Parking: This semester I do not have a car but it is still obvious that there are some issues with the parking at my regional UCF campus (Rosen College of Hospitality Management) during class times it can often be very difficult to get in and out, and to get a space due to the other cars coming in and out, as well as the student shuttles that come every hour.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I was received several scholarships from the school, however sometimes having the amount posted became an issue as it would many times take a very long time. Since I live on one of the regional campuses I have to go to the main campus to take care of any financial aid, but by the time I got there, they were usually closed!

Campus Quality: The facilities at UCF are outstanding in my opinion. They have two gyms, one with a lap pool and rock climbing wall, the campus is kept clean and aesthetically pleasing all the time, the majority of the buildings are clean and comfortable and the entire campus is equipped with many technological innovations. I am very please with the facilities at UCF.

Majors: To be in an engineering major at UCF is to be stressed with the course load placed upon your shoulders with the time constraints allowed, especially if you have a job to work at outside of school. But although the program is stressful, I do enjoy it overall because I honestly do enjoy to learn new things and love to learn how things work, which is engineering. Some fun aspects about my program though are the cool clubs available at UCF and the internships with major companies through the university as well. An example of these would be: ASE (Society for Automotive Enigeers), and Lockheed Martin CWEP (college work experience program).

Majors: I haven'f officially had an internship through UCF yet, but I do have an interview with Lockheed Martin next week and am very excited about it. I had some initial concerns with finding an internship in my field of study because there are so many brilliant and talented individuals out there that it makes it a very competitive opportunity. I think one of the things that helped to set me apart from the rest in being selected for an intership position was my work experience in the field of manual and CNC manufacturing.

Majors: I am very happy with the engineering program that I am in at UCF. There are so many opportunities presented to the engineering majors to further advance their knowledge of what engineering is like in the real world through clubs, internships, co-ops, and work experience programs. Its alot of to me to be honest, regardless of the rigors of the courses. As long as you put enough time and effort into those courses and manage your time wisely, you will have plenty of time to do other really cool and fun stuff. If I had to start all over from the beginning, I would happily do it all over again. My career goals for the future are to work at a major aerospace/mechanical engineering company in the research and development departments hopefully. I find that discovering and building new things or improving on old things is very exciting.

Majors: Any engineering major at UCF is fairly easy to get into when it comes to being put on a pending status (which means that you are intent on majoring in the field of engineering but just cant officially declare it yet). In order to officially declare an engineering major though, you have to complete calculus 1-3, physics for engineers and scientists 1-2, and chem. for engineers. Although those courses do not add up to many classes together, the rigors of each course should not be underestimated. If I could offer a tip for being able to officially declare an engineering major, it would be this: DO NOT follow the college stereo-type of hanging out with you friends and going to parties all the time. Always allow yourself time to take a break in between studies but if you want to excel in your courses and ultimately excel in your major, you must commit the time and effort to do so.

UCF is growing by leaps and bounds. The students love to hang out, and they all know how to have a good time. There’s so much to do and there’s something for everyone. Do you really need any more reasons to go to college in Florida?

Orlando is an exciting city with tons of attractions and activities available to all. In many ways, going to school at UCF resembles a four-year vacation (Disney on Sunday, classes on Monday!). Downtown Orlando on a Friday night can, at times, seem like Mardi Gras, and City Walk on a Saturday night isn’t to be missed. Also, Floridians are welcoming and friendly and most students at UCF make friends quickly and easily. Friendly faces and sunny skies, what more could a college student ask for? The stellar academics, up-and-coming sports teams, and state-of-the-art facilities are reason enough to spend the next four years of your life at UCF; the city of Orlando is just one big fringe benefit. Come join us!
