1 College Senior

Administration: Too strict and administration tries to shut down any student activism before it even starts.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: I don't really know much about campus strictness because I don't drink or do drugs or basically do things that would get me in trouble. But I would say the overall strictness isn't very strict. UCSD seems more lenient.

4 College Freshman

Administration: RSOs get you in parking tickets and noise violations, but if you're caught drinking or smoking underage, you barely get a slap on the wrist. They're all bark and no bite.

3 College Freshman

Administration: It was alright, didn't have a lot of trouble with it

3 College Junior

Administration: If you like to play by the rules this is your place

Students living on campus feel as though the campus police and RAs are more concerned with getting them in trouble than keeping them safe. There are strict rules about noise, alcohol, and drugs in the dorms. Although violation of these rules are dealt with through school and not through the police, students still feel that UCSD can be unnecessarily strict with its on-campus students.

If students living on campus are responsible and generally follow the campus rules, then they do not have problems with the Campus Security officers. As long as parties are kept small, inside, and reasonably quiet, good times can be had in the dorms and in the on-campus apartments.
