Advice on Finding a Job/Internship
Finding on-campus work is simple-popular jobs include coffee houses, the rec center's outdoor pool, and campus tours. The pay isn't fabulous, but some students work as part of their financial aid package and certainly reap the reward. Off-campus employment is a little trickier to secure, but one of Los Angeles' glittering promises is its internship and job spectrum. Savvy applicants can find spots in the city's bustling entertainment industry and UCLA's top-notch medical facilities. BruinView is an online portal that allows students to upload their résumé, which is circulated to companies specifically seeking Bruin interns. The Career Center is also a handy resource with its résumé workshops, mock interviews, and friendly counselors.
