5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It's all there. Discovery is there for those who look. It's the best, the absolute best

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Dorms be like dorms, but the hill is a land of its own joined together as one big happy dorm building family all clustered on one part of the campus that we call the HILL, the big magnificent HILL of UCLA.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Div 1 sports and club sports are amazingly fun! Many students are very involved in keeping physically fit, or so it seems to me. Gyms can get crowded, but if you go at the right time it is like any other gym. Rose Bowl and Wooden Center are nice, nice, nice!

Overall Experience: UCLA has many clubs, sports, Greek life, internships, and the academics are top-notch. The school is diverse in every way, and the campus is beautiful. Dorms are average, but food is above average. It is awesome because all of the dorms are near each other and everyone can see their friends all the time. Dorms are not scattered about. There are good gyms, a new one near the dorms. There are also pools if you like to swim. The weather can be hot, but it is mostly nice out. Westwoood is a college town, but it is a little far. The school has it all. Overall A+.

Health & Safety: The school is very large and the night van really should run longer. The people who need it most are the ones who are stumbling around after parties at 2am not the ones going to a party at 11.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have loved most of my professors. They were engaging and geniunely were interested in student learning.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: As a pre-med I am slightly intimidated by my future but I think the alumni network is not exactly easy to access but if utilized it is very helpful.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: It is an excellent opportunity for social advancement but sometimes the RA's are downright awful. It seems that they let the power go to their heads or they let their personal lives interfere too much. I have had good RA's but I have had experiences with ones who seem like they shouldn't be RA's.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am not a part of a sorority but I have considered it often. It is just too expensive and sometimes it feels like you can only get some positions in labs, clubs or internships if you have connections through some greek facility.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Athletes are treated very well and it is always a pleasure to go see the games. The more popular sports are not free which is a burden but it is enjoyable and worth it. Sometimes the athletes do get too much special treatment when they should be getting a little less.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Although I love my school and its students, sometimes the more political elements and policies are upsetting and not overall beneficial to me or my academic career.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: UCLA: work hard, play harder.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletics at UCLA is a program that always impresses me. There is so much school spirit, and a lot of reason as well. UCLA has the biggest number of NCAA championships of any college: 113. My high school, as a magnet school, was never too big with sports, but everything changed after I went to my first UCLA football game. The sports at UCLA is another high quality aspect that makes me proud to be a Bruin.

Overall Experience: At UCLA, you can easily tell the quality that this school prides itself on. From first glance at campus, to the deeper details of life here, you see what makes UCLA the number 2 public school in the world. So many details have been thought out, and the organization of every event and aspect of life at UCLA is impressive. As a first year, the transition to college has been made easier by the high quality of food, classes, and especially people that I encounter. I definitely get my money's worth and I would recommend this school to anyone who might have the chance to be accepted here as well.

Overall Experience: I've met amazing people, teachers are intellectual

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: career center very helpful, alumni network beneficial

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: not my interest but they are welcoming to all

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: huge school spirit, new facilities, and engaging

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: it is diverse and offers variety of opportunities

Health & Safety: I believe UCLA is one of the safest canpuses. It really values the mental health of its students with all the insitutional support, educationally and medically.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The academics are average. Considering it is a top rated university I wxpected a greater quality classroom education. It seems however with the large classes and abundance of TA led classes that the university does not value the classroom experience as much as research.

Campus Housing: Its an okay experience but decided to move home as a commuter for sophmore year.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: UCLA is a great research institution yet their is less effort and dedication put in undergraduate studies meaning attention is on research and not quality of professors.

Smack dab in the middle of Los Angeles and on the list of America's top colleges, UCLA is a school for those who want to have a blast while focusing on schoolwork. Although course registration is a battle, classes are crowded, and the registrar is impersonal, students praise the wisdom of their professors and feel that a UCLA degree will open major doors in the job market. The quarter system moves fast and tests tend to sneak up stealthily, but this allows for more experimentation when choosing courses and far less boredom. With more than 100 majors to choose from, the campus is bustling with students of all ideologies, races, and academic interests, making rousing discussions an everyday experience.

One of the nation's few top-notch universities that isn't private, UCLA is a place for those who want to learn more than a textbook contains. There’s pressure to shine socially and academically among the approximately 25,000 high-achieving Bruin undergrads, but there are plenty of campus organizations that give students a go-to friend group in the midst of the giant student body. However, it's up to the students to scout out and take advantage of all opportunities because nothing is handed to UCLA students—they must learn to navigate around red tape, persist through budget cuts, find parking and housing in Westwood's winding streets, and steer toward success. And how do they celebrate their successes? Parties! Whether through the semi-dominant Greek system or at a laid-back dorm gathering, UCLA students know how to put the books aside for a night. Overall, Bruins play nearly as hard as they work, making UCLA one of the most well-rounded schools imaginable.
