Health & Safety: Going to school in LA seems like it would be dangerous, but even as a public university there's very little to worry about around campus. I've spent lots of nights walking home alone and drunk from a party, and still felt entirely safe.

Overall Experience: Employers are impressed by UCLA. It's as easy as that. No matter where you go to work there will be someone who went to or is related to someone who went to UCLA, and they always love to hire Bruins.

Campus Housing: The rooms are extremely small, you'll likely be in a triple your first year, and the price is absurd for the amount of room you get. Moving off campus is the single biggest money saving tip I can give.

Greek Life: I'm not Greek, but I've got a lot of friends who are. People who are in it seem to love it, people who aren't in it seem relatively indifferent but sometimes aggravated about the occasional cliquey-ness of Greeks. Some girls in houses will all but ignore you after you tell them you're not in a house, but only some. Frats play a major role in the party scene.

Athletics: UCLA can't be topped when it comes to sports. It has the most national championships in the country by a large margin, and that shows in the campus spirit for upcoming games throughout the year in all varsity sports. Certain club sports are also extremely competitive, including rowing, rugby, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball. There are other club sports that are less intense such as ultimate frisbee and quiditch for people who may not have played sports in high school. IMs are also very fun, and can play a big part of life with a close group of friends.

Overall Experience: Joining the rowing team was the greatest decision I could have made coming to college. The frats here can be slightly toxic, and Greek life tends to stick together it seems, but you can break into the bubble if you make a couple close friends early on. There's a club for everything you could possibly imagine, and people on campus are generally pretty friendly. Rent in the area is absurdly expensive, even for crap apartments, which takes away from the whole experience of going to school at UCLA.

Health & Safety: Even though UCLA is an open campus, I still feel safe. I would not be afraid to walk back from the library at late hours of the night.

Greek Life: Greek life is huge on campus. However, I believe you do not need to join these organizations in order to have a good time on campus.

Athletics: UCLA's fan support and school spirit has to be up there with the top in the nation. Students regularly show off their bruin pride by sporty UCLA athletic gear.

Overall Experience: UCLA offers the perfect balance between social and academic worlds. Classes are academically challenging, yet rewarding. There are many activities that are available to join such as IM sports, Clubs, and many more.

Health & Safety: The safety and security here on campus is extremely reliable and efficient as far as I can tell. There are always CPO officers around campus, and on every student's BruinCard, there are a list of numbers for The UCPD, The Rape Treatment Center, and the CPO Office. On frat row, there are even student organizations that ask people if they need a safe ride home or a bottle of water. I know that sexual assault still happens, but numerous programs are available to help those in need of support. There have also been special security measures taken to prevent sexual assault happening on campus. For example, all freshman entering UCLA must take a health and safety course prior to attending UCLA to bring awareness to the dangers and harm of sexual assault and crime.

Overall Experience: My experiences with course and professors at UCLA has thus far been quite brilliant! The courses are so interesting and always get me thinking about the most compelling of questions. I have learned more in the past 6 months here than I have in my 12 years in primary/secondary school. The professors I have had are more than willing to help and answer any questions about the material learned in class, and are all intelligent masterminds of their subject/field. There are thousands of courses offered at UCLA, which makes it fun to choose your schedule of classes every quarter. Overall, I have enjoyed the courses and professors, as it has opened my eyes to the unending possibilities of the world.

Overall Experience: The possibility of career and jobs opportunities here at UCLA are endless. Internships and job prospects are constantly being advertised around campus, and the easy access to the career center/alumni center enables students to get involved in a variety of professions. The value of a degree from this school has proven to be something very treasured and prestigious in any job or career, and everyone here is motivated and determined to achieve their career and personal goals upon graduating from UCLA.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is convenient, fun, and always entertaining. We have some of the greatest dining halls, and everything on "The Hill" residential area is easily accessible. I can check my mail, order food, buy groceries, print papers, and study all within a close distance to my dorm. The social atmosphere is what you make of it, but the RA's do an excellent job in providing awesome social events that residents can attend weekly. It also depends on how well you get along with roommates. Roommate assignments are randoms as first year students, so it can be a hit or miss. For me, it was a hit as all six of us get along great and always spend time together! Overall, I would say that my time living on campus has been pleasant and I would recommend it to anybody attending UCLA in the future.

Greek Life: The Greek life here at UCLA is generally a positive asset to our school, but it does have some negative connotations to it as well. Some of the participants in fraternities and sororities participate in volunteer and outreach service, but others only join Greek life to party and make friends. It is convenient to have the fraternity houses so close to campus so when students go out, they can safely make it back to their dorm. I have also always felt safe whenever I am around a Greek party or event, as most of the people I have met that are in Greek life are extremely nice.

Athletics: The athletics here at UCLA are equipped with some of the most qualified athletes and state of the art facilities, with a huge population of fans ranging from current students to alumni. Almost every game event, no matter what sport, is filled with school spirit and plenty of fans. Personally, I have gone to almost all of the sporting events here, as I feel it is one of the best parts about attending a Division 1 PAC 12 university. Overall, I think the athletic programs at our school only enhance the college experience on our campus.

Health & Safety: I personally feel safe walking around on campus alone because there are always a lot of people around and sexual assault on campus is not a big problem at UCLA. The students take these sexual offenses very seriously.

Smack dab in the middle of Los Angeles and on the list of America's top colleges, UCLA is a school for those who want to have a blast while focusing on schoolwork. Although course registration is a battle, classes are crowded, and the registrar is impersonal, students praise the wisdom of their professors and feel that a UCLA degree will open major doors in the job market. The quarter system moves fast and tests tend to sneak up stealthily, but this allows for more experimentation when choosing courses and far less boredom. With more than 100 majors to choose from, the campus is bustling with students of all ideologies, races, and academic interests, making rousing discussions an everyday experience.

One of the nation's few top-notch universities that isn't private, UCLA is a place for those who want to learn more than a textbook contains. There’s pressure to shine socially and academically among the approximately 25,000 high-achieving Bruin undergrads, but there are plenty of campus organizations that give students a go-to friend group in the midst of the giant student body. However, it's up to the students to scout out and take advantage of all opportunities because nothing is handed to UCLA students—they must learn to navigate around red tape, persist through budget cuts, find parking and housing in Westwood's winding streets, and steer toward success. And how do they celebrate their successes? Parties! Whether through the semi-dominant Greek system or at a laid-back dorm gathering, UCLA students know how to put the books aside for a night. Overall, Bruins play nearly as hard as they work, making UCLA one of the most well-rounded schools imaginable.
