The University offers a variety of food—with everything from convenience stores to restaurants and coffee shops around campus, UALR takes care of its students' appetites. Students can grab a quick snack on their way to class or sit down and eat lunch with a friend. The student center has a Quiznos, Taco Bell, Starbucks, and Diamond Café, which offers sushi, fruit, down-home cooking, burgers, and fries. Diamond Café is a student favorite because not only does it cater to students' hunger but is also a nice place to socialize. Some students come here just to hang out without eating anything! There is also a food joint in the College of Business and Engineering, which can get a little crowded when everyone leaves their classes. This is also a great spot to meet up with friends while getting a bite to eat.
Food and money are probably the top two priorities for any college student outside of their academics, so before ordering food on campus, many students seem to go for menu price over taste at times. But, luckily, the food court meets both of these needs—it supplies food at a reasonable cost. If students are looking to satisfy their mouths, their pockets, or both, the food court in the Donaghey Student Center is never a letdown, and Taco Bell seems to be the least expensive and most frequented. A meal plan isn't required for any student but is quite useful because it's a convenient way to get food when cash in your pocket is nowhere to be found.
