5 College Freshman

Athletics: WE ARE THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Football rules the school. No one has a problem with it.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: UA offers the best game day experiences on football Saturdays, the best college baseball stadium in the nation, and an up and coming basketball program. Fans are crazy about every sport in Tuscaloosa.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: They have a dining hall that anyone can go to but is mostly for the athletes. Full course balanced meals are served at that dining hall, called Bryant. The facilities used by the athletes are also pretty top notch as well. Many of us students go out and support the various sports, but football is by far the most important.

Football is almost a religion in Alabama. It's a tradition that takes over the school and even the town. Students count down the days until the fall in anticipation of the start of the football frenzy. People from all over pack into the Bryant-Denny Stadium for every home game to show their Crimson Pride. Football game days are a statewide holiday in Alabama. If you're not a football fan, don't fret. All you have to do is experience just one Bama game in the student section and you will be changed. The game is not the only fun part about football. There are parties, bar and restaurant specials, bands, and new people to meet. Game days are a tradition on this campus that will never get dull.

Football is not the only sport Bama takes pride in. The baseball, basketball, and gymnastics teams are always ranked high. If you're a fan, you won't have a problem showing your support since admission is free to students. All you have to do is to show your Action Card. Try Bama's IM sports if you're interested in playing. There are plenty to choose from, and there are teams for men, women, and both. No matter what sport you're a fan of, Bama's athletics won't let you down. If you're going to be a true fan, be prepared to yell, "Roll Tide!"

Most Popular Sports
Football is by far the most popular sport at UA. It's not only a popular sport, but it's a tradition. All other sports take a backseat to football, but basketball and gymnastics gather a pretty big crowd, as well.
School Spirit
School spirit is all around the University of Alabama. Students are proud to say UA is their school. The colors of crimson and white are worn by many proud students and fans of Alabama. During football games or other athletic events, you can walk up to a complete stranger that has an Alabama shirt or hat on and say "Roll Tide," and instantly you will get one back. During football season, school spirit is even surrounded by the town. Football is almost like a holiday here, and the students look forward to it all year. Sit in the student section during one football game, and the school spirit will make you an instant Bama fan. Roll Tide!
Getting Tickets
Getting student tickets for UA athletic events is probably the easiest thing to do on this campus. Students can simply get into any event by showing their Action Card, except for football games. Getting football tickets consists of a little more work, but not much. All students have to do is sign up for football tickets online ( The student package consists of one ticket for every home football game, and the package costs $35. This is a great deal since these tickets are usually sold around campus at extremely higher prices.
