3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Alcohol is pretty prominent on campus but you don't see many people doing drugs openly.

Technology: There are lots of computers available in every library but they are college specific. Gorgas fills up fast near finals time but usually you can find empty computers on the upper levels. Choice between Mac and Windows.

Party Scene: Lots of options every weekend if house parties and swaps are your type of thing.

Off-Campus Dining: Tuscaloosa is definitely a college town when it comes to dining choices. There are a lot of affordable options for students but as far as upscale dining goes there aren't many options.

Technology: The computer work really fast and have easy access

Campus Food: There isn't alot of options on campus. The dining halls close at 8:30 so after that the only thing open are the markets.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus this year so i don't know an accurate account of how it is.

Off-Campus Dining: The food is awful. There's not enough options and even less healthy options.

Weather: The weather is so biopolar. It's rainy one minute and cold the next.

Campus Quality: The facilities are amazing. Everything is nice and has alot to offer.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Quality: We have a lot to offer. There are so many different clubs and activities to join and be apart of.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The guys are decent here. They are attractive but they are stuck on themselves.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Student health center is overpriced and it takes forever to be served. The safety is average.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Currently I am a biology major. It is tough but the advisors help you through anything.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The workload can be stressful no matter what your major is.

1 College Sophomore

Parking: Parking is a nightmare. There are not enough parking spots for students at all.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: Transportation is pretty good. The off campus shuttles can be a pain at times.

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I would consider going greek. It's a big thing here.

Local Area: The nightlife is decent. I wish there was more to do.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Make sure to apply early for financial aid. The school will run out very quickly.

2 College Junior

Parking: There is not enough parking for all students and those who work there. Depending on where you can park, sometimes you may have to either walk or wait for a bus to pick you up. The best bet is to try to get earlier classes to arrive on campus early to get a good spot. The only reason I see needing a car is if you live off-campus or you live on-campus and want a job.

The university definitely needs more parking space.

Weather: The weather here is fairly inconsistent, but it's nothing that I'm not used to since I'm an Alabama native.

Guys & Girls: In general the guys and girls on campus seem like decent people. Though admittedly I do have trouble finding people that I can actually connect with. I would say as a whole the student body is overall attractive. The biggest thing about students on campus, both guys and girls, is how into the social scene they are. There is constantly something going on and if you're ever looking for a party then you won't have to look for very long or go very far.

Health & Safety: I've had nothing, but positive experiences as far as campus safety and the on campus student health center are concerned. I've had to use the student health center on a few different occasions and each time I've been in and out within in no time. And as a student who is currently not driving, for me the on campus health center is extremely convenient.

Athletics: We're the Crimson Tide. What else is there to say? I'm fairly certain that multiple national championships, not to mention both the legacies of Paul "Bear" Bryant and Nick Saban can all speak for themselves. We're undoubtedly the best in the SEC so can I get a Roll Tide?

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
