3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There are newly built dorms that are beautiful but the one I live in is one of the oldest on campus. I tried to move into one of the newly built buildings but it was very difficult and seemed impossible so I gave up because I was not given much help.

Athletics: The sports and athletes at this school are very important. The spirit here is incredible and the student involvement is admirable.

Administration: It is definitely very easy to get away with having a visitor in your dorm for a long period of time and no one ever really gets in trouble for anything in the dorms either.

Off-Campus Dining: There is a wide variety of restaurants and fast food places around but most of the time you need a car.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: This school gave me no scholarships or financial aid.

Local Area: During football season this campus is buzzing with people and energy. After football season, not so much. There is really nothing to do unless eat, sleep, workout, or study. Unless you are of legal drinking age or have a fake ID, going to fraternity house parties are as good as it is going to get when it comes to nightlife. The shopping situation around campus is not the best so if you feel like spending some money you better hope you have a car that you can take an hour to the galleria and even that isn't an incredible shopping mall. Some people are genuinely nice and some are not just like any other place but unless you are in Greek life, it is very hard to make friends and find something fun and different to do every weekend.

Health & Safety: There are emergency stations all around campus with a button to press if you are in trouble. However, there have been several times where a situation has been reported to the camps police and taken a little to lightly than it should have.

Overall Experience: The teachers are usually always there to help you but it is very hard to get lost in a class with more than 20 students. Since my SAT scores weren't up to par I was placed in the Human Environmental Sciences college as undecided which prevents me from studying classes that have to do with my actual major.

Administration: They are strict when they need to be.

Campus Food: As a freshman you have the unlimited meal plan, so you don't have to worry about how many meals you have left, but be careful with your Dinning Dollars, because those run out faster than you'd think.

Guys & Girls: Everybody is nice and polite if you talk to them. Nobody gets in your business unless you let them.

Athletics: The sport that has the most support on campus is by far our football program, but we also have an excellent gymnastics program. Our other varsity sports aren't bad either. Game day atmosphere is the best!

Campus Housing: Some dorms are better than others. My dorm is probably on the top of the bottom half.

Overall Experience: Im excited with my future, my major is rather small here at UA. Ive considered transferring to a Fashion Institute however I am unsure if I could leave this campus and the greek life behind.

Campus Quality: Its the University of Alabama. Enough said. Gorgeous campus, amazing football, huge greek life, beautiful people, and southern comfort, what else do you need?

Athletics: Alabama Football. Alabama athletics is one of the best parts of this school, we do not lack championships and titles in many of the varsity and club sports.

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of fast food restaurants, I must say coming from a big city (Los Angeles) I miss a lot of nicer places to eat. However there is a good variety and Birmingham with a lot more culture isn't too far away.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are some pretty great and affordable places off campus.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
