Campus Housing: Alot of Options for Everyone! There is a wide variety of on-campus housing options, whether it be all-girls, all-boys, coed, honors, non-honors, major-based, old, new, traditional, suite-style, or apartment-style. Alabama really has it all! While some of the dorms are much older than others, they are all well-kept and you really have alot of options so everyone can find something they like. The proximity of the dorms to classes, dining halls, etc. is great; it is probably going to be the thing I miss most about living on campus--everything was just a short walk away!

Guys & Girls: If you are cool, you can get what you looking for.

Academics: Most Are Good – It depends on your teacher. I have had mostly good experiences with teachers, but a few bad ones. Rate My Professor is definitely a life saver when signing up for classes.

Campus Quality: Rec Center Is Awesome – If you like to work out-the rec center will amaze you. They offer zumba and dance classes every day which are fun even for beginners. They have an indoor track, a huge pool, sauna, ball courts, and two floors of machines. I absolutely love it.

2 College Sophomore

Diversity: Could Be Better – The student body itself is decently diverse-but students of one group aren't always accepting of other races or economic backgrounds. It definitely is a problem with the greek system, whether they will admit it or not.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I Fell in Love – The campus is beautiful, the people are almost always nice and friendly, and the courses I've taken have been pretty decent so far. If you want a big school experience, you will love bama.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Overall Good Teachers – Most teachers are really helpful and the classes aren't too hard.

Athletics: Football is king in the South and the throne is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Football is the center of social life for the fall semester with home games every other weekend and tailgating its hard to miss! The University is great at making sure students have seats to these coveted games and much more! With Inter-mural sports, a brand new recreation center and a variety of club and NCAA sports you'll defiantly find a team for you

Guys & Girls: Sorritrity Row, the Eye Candy Shop. The University of Alabama is KNOWN for their Southern Belles, these girls will not disappoint! Beautiful both inside and out. Dress is really basic, leggings and a t-shirt all day everyday! These girls may not dress up everyday but when they do, WOW! Approachable too!

Off-Campus Dining: This Mexican Grill will leave you satisfied especially if you love Burritos! You'll also feel like an exclusive person, eating at one of only two Chipotle's in the state

Off-Campus Housing: Tuscaloosa is a famous large college town with many new apartment buildings and housing. All conveniently located to the campus. Your freshman year you are required to live on campus. After that you may choose to stay on campus or explore the off-campus housing.

Parking: Really Not Sure Yet – I will be going to BAMA Bound this week and will be instructed in more detail. During our campus tour we were told there is very little need for a car, that everyone walks to class,. Your dorm is located within the area of your school of study making it much accessible.. Each semester there is a $250 parking permit for both in state and out of state students. As many students that BAMA has and limited parking spaces there is little to no need your freshman year for a car on campus. They do have multilple parking decks for guests, professors and some students at a reasonable daily rate. At BAMA Bound I will find out where I am assigned to park by my dorm to and where on campus as well. They have different colored decals for different areas on campus. I will be finding all about the parking soon.

Overall Experience: I had a terrible expierence. My advisor wasn't helpful, my classes were over filled. If i had to choose again, I would not choose ua.

2 College Sophomore

Academics: Everything about the education that I recieved at UA was average, from the teachers, to the classes, tests, and quizzes. My highschool career was more vigerous than my time spent in class at UA.

Drug Safety: Drinking Is Life – If you don't drink and party, there is nothing to do on or around campus. Before and after every big event everyone gets together and drinks. When there is nothing else to do, you get together with your friends and drink. Tuscaloosa has nothing else to offer but alcohol to bored college students.

1 College Sophomore

Diversity: Large Variety. No Real Tolerence. At UA many races, religions, creeds, ethnecities, and peoples are present, but unless you're a white male, your opinion doesn't count for anything.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The Teacher Are What Make the Class – Many teachers are people first teachers second and by that I mean, if you go to your teacher and explain a certain situation be it attendance or help with work they will do the up most to help you. The school it's self do have policies that make some classes hard to bear, but as with most school if you have a teacher who knows what he is talking about and what he is doing you should learn something while also getting a good grade.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: It's Very Fickle – The dining halls on campus all open at 7 and close at various times. There is only one dining hall open during late nights and it's on one of the edges of the campus, so if you're on the opposite side get ready to spend money. The food it's self is very hit miss other than Fresh Foods which is the best place on campus to get food. The staff is very rude at times but have kind hearts and will open up to you after awhile.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek Is Sheek! At the University of Alabama if you're a Greek you probably are known within a large group of the school. The Greek chapters are very friendly with each other so you will almost always have a friend who is in a different frat or sorority than you, but still be best friends.

Transportation: Getting to the School Is the Hard Part! The school's nearest airport is in Birmingham which is a few hours away, so if you live a few states, the Virginia's and Ohio's, it's a hassle getting home for break. Once hear the school provides you with more than enough transportation. They have a bus system which runs from 7 to 11 and after that they have a taxi service which is free which you can call to get where you need to go. They also provide plenty of parking spaces for those who come with cars, so feel free to bring you car on campus.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: The University of Alabama has a huge tradition of excellence in sports. We have fourteen national championships in football, six under Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. This year, we had championships in football, women's golf, and gymnastics. Students are able to purchase football tickets for only five dollars apiece, and all other sporting events are free to students.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I'm a premed biology major, so my classes are challenging, but my adviser and my prehealth adviser is a tremendous help in picking out classes and making sure I am on the right track for medical school.

4 College Freshman

Majors: I have not personally had an internship yet, but my roommate went to a fair and was offered a summer internship to Mercedes Benz as an engineering major. In addition, the Honors College has resources for finding internships, and AED, the prehealth association, will help in finding shadowing opportunities.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Science and Engineering Complex – The University of Alabama is in the process of completing stages of the brand-new Science and Engineering Complex. Located by Shelby Hall, which houses chemistry, and Rogers Library, the science library, the buildings are super nice and feature modern labs and classrooms. Professors do their personal research in these buildings, and they all surround a nice courtyard.

5 College Freshman

Majors: Biology Major – As a premed biology major, I have many challenging courses as well as lots of hard decisions to make regarding class choices and certain professors. However my major advisor is a huge help, and the premed advisors will make sure you are on the right track for medical school.

University of Alabama students constantly brag about their school’s traditions and spirit, and their pride is shown throughout the town. Some say it’s the incredible education that drew them here, and others say it’s Bama football that brought them to this Southern school. But no matter what reason these students choose to come to UA, most believe it was the best choice they could have made.

After graduation, some students get a job, some further their education by going to UA’s grad school, and some even go to UA’s law school. No matter what the students decide to do with their future, they believe Bama has prepared them for it. Students advise upcoming freshmen to walk around the Quad, visit the Strip, or watch a football game to understand why so many love UA.
