Campus Food: The food is relatively healthy, but the options do get old after a while.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food on campus is great. the only complaint i have is the lack of late night options.

Campus Food: I enjoy the food offered in the dining halls! Dewick-MacPhie and Carmichael are the only dining halls and are located in different areas on campus. Dewick is more of a hangout for students who reside downhill whereas Carmichael is more for students who reside uphill. Nevertheless, they are both well respected by students who like different things about the two dining halls. Students enjoy the pizzas in Dewick and salads in Carmichael, for instance.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Tufts is actually known for the high quality food at the dining halls. That being said, the meal plans are all very expensive and, although the dining halls themselves have pretty great hours on a daily basis, there isn't anywhere to eat late at night on weeknights, and on weekends the Commons (which is also expensive) is only open until 1:00 am.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Good food but expensive and so few guest swipes!

The verdict is out: The majority of Tufts students will tell you that the food on campus is great. Students here who have been to other university cafeterias agree that they are lucky because it could have been a lot worse. There are always fresh vegetables and fruits in the Tufts dining halls, Campus Center eateries are generally packed, and Sunday brunch is one of the largest social events on campus. The one drawback is that the food can get monotonous after a while, but fortunately, MOPS—a restaurant delivery program—provides the opportunity to order in, while still putting the bill on your meal plan.

The unlimited meal plan is required for the first year, which some students resent. And while it is true that you probably won’t get to eat all the food you pay for before the end of the semester, having the same meal plan provides a common bond between you and everyone in your freshman class. And remember, there are still three more years to experience all the on-campus options outside of the dining hall, like Brown & Brew and Dewick.
