Party Scene

3 College Student

Party Scene: There's as much nightlife in in the dorms via study groups and interest groups as there is drinking, smoking, and other non-school sponsored activities.

3 College Student

Party Scene: The fraternities throw the best parties, and sometimes the nonalcoholic parties are the most fun.

3 College Senior

Party Scene: friday and saturday are pretty even in the party scene it just depends on what is going on that weekend and who is having open parties. if you're a guy you are probably going to have a hard time getting in places/ organizations you are not a part of. with sports parties they seem to all party together you'll see baseball basketball volleyball football soccer track and cross country swimmers wrestlers etc partying together. but if you are in one frat you might have a hard time getting into another frat's party or if you are a guy and unaffiliated in general. sometimes parties open at midnight, but mainly for girls and there sometimes are guest lists for security and risk management reasons. Thursday is all you can drink at the bars(tp's and dukum) for about 10 each, pay and drink as much as you want. typ. all the 21+ go to bars around 12:30 till close. parties dont typically go past 2:30 if they even last that long. people try and get in line for taco bell before close at 3 on the weekends.

Kirksville just doesn't have a nightlife. Townspeople close up shop by 10 p.m., and students are left to find their own entertainment. Check out the liquor section at Walmart on a weekend sometime after 10 p.m. and you'll understand. Since there isn't much else to do in Kirksville besides throw alcohol-dependent bashes, there never seems to be a shortage of parties. There is no pressure to drink, however, especially if you live in the dorms. Many people have a great time listening to music, playing games, and watching movies with friends.

The Dukum Inn is the one bar students frequent most often, with its budget-friendly specials, such as Drinkin' with Lincoln—$5 all-you-can-drink—and musical events. Best of all, it's within walking distance of campus, so there is no threat of drunks getting behind the wheel.

Organization Parties
Most active organizations on campus throw their own events, but these are rarely typical parties. There are notable exceptions, including the departmental frats, campus media groups, honor fraternities, and service organizations. Mostly these are private gatherings, but knowing someone will get you in just about everywhere.
Did You Know?
People chill at fraternities and house parties, where age is no object. Some just dance and have a good time, some sip a beer or two, and some get plastered. There are also plenty of University-sponsored events held on campus.
