Tuition & Financial Aid: Graduating with an associates degree in 16 months is totally worth it in my book. most of your costs as a student are for material. They even give you a list of places where you can get scholarships to reduce your costs as a student, have flexible payment options, and financial aid knows what they're doing.

Career Services: Job prospects are great, you get plenty of certifications so when you go out in the field you have a stacked resume, and at any time if you need a certification or want to practice for an upcoming weld test, you may do so in the facility free of charge. That is what is great, is as long as you are a former student of the school, you can come back at any time and receive a weeks worth of training free.

Student Body: Some people are just getting out of jail and trying to put their life back together, some are just getting out of the military, etc. and you meet people from many different walks of life here.

Academic Experience: Welders are respected in the school because our job is very difficult and strenuous both mentally and physically, and very dangerous. The facilities are nice but some of the machines are kind of worn out. Safety is stressed and enforced from day one, because a mistake can lead to disaster in this field. Job opportunities are perfect, they can find you a local job, or you can find jobs in completely different areas of the country. Most of the people in my term are pretty cool, and we've grown and learned to work together on projects large and small.

Academic Experience: Instructors are all great, curriculum is great, registration for classes is easy (I signed up a week before the term was supposed to start and it only took me a day), you can stay late every day till 4 o'clock (you typically get off at 2:30) to practice or work on projects. They also have advanced placement in the mathematics courses you take in your first and second terms, where you can test out of having to take those courses.

Overall Experience: Instructors are excellent at this school, all are very experienced and they are teaching the proper courses. In other words, guys who have been stick welders and structural welders all their lives are teaching the structural classes, pipe welders teach the pipe classes, etc. which really helps us learn a ton. Any time you have a question there are typically 5 instructors within shouting distance of you, all of which are accomplished welders who came to teach at school to pass their knowledge onto the students. Class sizes start off a little large in your first term, however only about 50% of every class makes it to graduation, sometimes more and sometimes less. There are other programs other than welding that I'm sure are set up similarly.

Overall Experience: This school (atleast the welding program) has connections with some excellent jobs, providing great job placement for those of us who are there and willing to work hard every day and show up. That being said, if you show a lack of interest or show up late every day, those are the guys who will never get a decent job in the field. However, it's not the schools fault for that, the schools job isnt to wake you up in the morning and brush your teeth like a baby. The school provides the knowledge and you need to be there to absorb it. Back on topic, there are plenty of great jobs that hire direct out of our school and will train you on the job for whatever they need you for.

Academic Flexibility: This school does a great job in the flexibility aspect. Teachers are all understanding that we're adults and have jobs, wives, kids, etc. to go home to after school, and they provide enough work that you learn well, but yet at the same time don't overload you with book work. It's a great balance.

Campus Resources: There isn't really a lot in the way of resources. We have a library, a few computer labs for some of the computer courses the welding program and other programs take. Other than that, no sports, or really any extracurricular activities in general.

Triangle Tech's staff are amazing they break down the course study so you can understand and use it. Above and beyond they go to making sure you are learning and learning the right things.
