Health & Safety: TUPD is amazing. We have the lowest crime rate in MD for on campus crimes. The police work hard to do their job and keep the residents and students safe. There are an ample amount of cameras, and the police office is very close to campus. I feel very safe while I am on campus.

Health & Safety: I believe that we have enough people that students can talk to about if they have a problem with safety. I do think a persons health and safely is super important and that if you are ever enchanting problems then you should see someone.

Health & Safety: I never felt unsafe. I was a commuter, so I am not sure how being a resident would have made me feel.

As it is located in one of the more dangerous counties in America, Towson University’s security system makes every effort to ensure safety on campus. Crime is not a primary concern for TU students, but the TU police department still keep students well informed, unlike some other schools that attempt to keep crime discrete. They post alerts after every crime and host an orientation program that informs students of ways to remain safe on campus. Another great safety feature is that there are 24-hour emergency telephones and lit sidewalks all over campus.

To a large extent, the TU police work hard and are always seen around the dorms. In addition, students are ensured that they are secure when entering their dorms. One of the main complaints about security is that students are often overwhelmed by the process they must go through when entering their dorms, as well. Some students also feel that security should be seen more around campus, rather than just situating themselves near the dorms.
