5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are many different places to go off campus, especially if you have a car. They have every kind of food a student would want, and most places deliver.

3 College Junior

Administration: I think that people on campus are reasonable as long as you come to class and put in effort. They do bust people for underage drinking pretty often.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: There always seems to be a party going on around campus, every night of the week.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: I think that the financial aid process should be a little easier, and the university should be more willing to help out its students.

Campus Food: I think the campus food can be very good if you know where to go for it

College Junior

Campus Housing: I am a commuter student who does not live on campus.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I commute so living off campus for me is living at home, but many of my friends plan to live off campus next year and they had no trouble at all making the transition.

Off-Campus Dining: Towson mall has Cheesecake Factory and PF Changs. There's also the food court and there is both a Qdoba and a Chipotle not far at all from campus. Fast food is everywhere on my drive home, and resisting the urge is very difficult sometimes. Basically any restaurant you can think of is within 20 minutes from Towson.

Administration: Parking is a nightmare, especially for commuters. Visiting people in dorms is very easy all they have to do is swipe my ID and the person I will be staying with. The noise violations are committed mostly by the construction workers because they start so early in the morning. Obey the rules as much as you can and you'll be fine it isn't hard to focus on school instead of parties.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Towson is a bar school, so unless you are over 21 or have a fake, there is not much of a night life.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I applied for the Honors College and received a scholarship upon acceptance as well as a merit scholarship. Because of this, my tuition was paid for and I have received numerous opportunities because I am a part of the Honors College including being able to select my classes before seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshman who are not a part of the Honors college.

Campus Food: As a commuter, if I do not want to eat on campus, I do not have to; however, I love Newell, Susq, and the Admin Cafe. Newell is great because you can eat as much as you want and their pastas, burgers, and omlettes are to die for. The Admin Cafe is a bit of a walk, but I highly recommend it if you have a math class in the York Rd building. It is always quiet, the food is amazing and their fries are by far the best on campus. Susq has amazing pastas and quesidillas. Go everywhere (except Glen) and try everything because most of it is really really good.

Overall Experience: Awful, intend on transferring as soon as this semester is over.

Overall Experience: I've had only one good professor in the past year, and that's pretty much been it. I have yet to meet one that doesn't ramble about off topic subjects for the duration of entire lectures. I had MUCH better professors at my community college....

Overall Experience: For me personally, it's been awful. Nothing has been remotely impressive about this school, as I now see coming here for the sole reason of saving myself money was one of the dumbest decisions I've ever made. If you enjoy dance, film, communications, etc then I suggest you come here. If you like subjects related to Homeland Security, National Security, Intelligence, Criminal Justice, etc then stay far away from this place. I'd rather drop out then continue my studies here.

Academics: Worst mistake of my life coming to TU and enrolling into the Poli Sci program, I've been miserable since I transferred here last year. It's been nothing more then a constant headache, and I literally dread everyday I have to come into campus. If you go to AACC and are in the Homeland Security program, steer clear of this place. I'll be transferring or dropping out immediately.

Academics: Nothing has been impressive about the academics so far, in regards to the Poli Sci courses. I feel like I've wasted a year of my life coming here, and should have went with my gut instincts to go to the other schools I was accepted into.

Greek Life: Never seen any on or around campus. Heard of occasional parties they throw, but besides that they are inactive around campus.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: Foods ok at best, nothing really special. JMU and VT's food was impressive when I went for campus visits, not TU's.

2 College Junior

Administration: Cancelled all tailgating for the 2014 football season because a girl fell out of a truck bed. Stupidest thing I've ever heard of. Everyone subsequently stopped attending games. Fail....

College Junior

Campus Housing: Live off campus, no experience with on campus housing

College Sophomore

Scholarships: I have not received scholarships as of yet so I wouldn't know.

Towson is the type of school that, if you find the right people, you will have a wonderful experience. For those who have trouble making friends, it is highly recommended to get involved on campus. There are many organizations and sports teams that thrive in Towson and are strongly recommended in order to assist students in finding a solid group of friends. Some students love Towson so much that they just cannot pinpoint exactly what it is that they love so much. Perhaps it is the attentive faculty at Towson or the nightlife that has so much to offer. Maybe they just enjoy the small, comfortable campus setting that allows them to pass by familiar faces every day.

Towson is a school that becomes what you make of it. It is clear that the students who are engaged in their work or are interested in an organization gain a greater sense of appreciation for Towson. Some students express how rewarding their experiences at Towson have been while acknowledging the fact that the University is not for everyone.
