5 College Junior

Academic Experience: I love the fact that they offer an evening nursing program so I can still work at my current job. Everyone was helpful in the prerequisites and applying for the nursing program.

5 College Junior

Career Services: They help you find career opportunities.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: They are always there to help.

Academic Flexibility: Schedule works around my life/work.

Overall Experience: Love the fact that I can obtain my degree with out having to drive a hour and a half to the nearest university.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I can get the degree I want within my current town. I enjoy not having to move to attend college or facing the higher cost of living found in larger towns in Missouri such as St. Louis, Spring Field, Columbia, or Kansas City.

3 College Junior

Student Body: The particular challenge faced is arranging more face-to-face meetings between students outside of class, and really fostering a great student culture at a two-year college where many students are highly career-oriented.

4 College Junior

Campus Quality: The Poplar Bluff Campus features an art gallery that is changed regularly. We also have plays once or twice each month at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.

Online Courses: Online classes are always more difficult, you don't have the benefit of seeing your instructor face-to-face or hearing all the in-class lectures. If you are a disciplined student, then online classes are great. Check in on blackboard frequently and don't be afraid to arrange a meeting with your instructor during their office hours to meet them personally which makes you feel more accountable for the grade you are getting, but also just to find out firsthand what an A paper will look like and how much time they recommend most students take in order to get an A so you know how to manage your time.

Career Services: N/A
I haven't had any need for these services yet and won't have any comment until closer to graduation.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Classes and curriculum have been fairly flexible. If I ever run into problems, I always try to notify my instructor as far in advance as possible so we can troubleshoot together.

Campus Resources: Aesthetically, I wish the college would put in more flower beds. It would be especially cool if we could create flower beds that are all native plants and use natural bee-friendly pesticides.

The library is small, but the librarians are extremely helpful and I love the study rooms and computer access.
Everyone should give the free athletic center a try, which is getting a major upgrade by Fall next school year.
Many of the textbooks are rentals which is a major cost savings.

Campus activities have really picked up in the last year or two, for anyone wanting to know more about campus activities, you should contact Hillary Speers, the Activity Director.

Campus Resources: There are several computer labs for specific classes, and the library has many computers available. Printing is typically $.10 per page at the library, the network is reliable as long as you are using one of the school computers, however the wireless is slow and sketchy unless you are in the dorms.

All college classes require access to a computer, so it's a good ideal to have a personal computer and printer at home.

Academic Experience: For anyone considering the Medical Laboratory Technician program, the program is excellent and a great place to start for those looking for a degree that translates directly into a career. Keep in mind that it is very difficult to work the second year of the program since you will be kept busy doing clinicals!

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Class registration is really easy. My favorite instructor in the English Department is Mark Sanders, and my favorite science teacher is Madelyn Wilson, I pray she never retires!

Tuition & Financial Aid: I do work study in financial aid at this college. I know as much about this office as an administrative assistant would and from an insider perspective, I think it is a great place to work and feel the office provides great customer service.

For anyone wanting to receive financial aid, please contact our office at (573) 840-9606 regarding the FAFSA, student loans, TRA, WIA, Scholarships, and military benefits, we'd love to assist you in any way possible and help answer your questions!

Academic Experience: This college offers so many options and opportunities for academics. The advisors are very helpful, the professors are very intelligent and inspiring, registering is easy, and this college has so many programs and study options to get involved in.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: I'm currently getting my general education degree, so I'm still undecided on a specific major but this is also a good experience.

4 College Senior

Student Body: This school has a very diverse variety of races and ethnicities of students. People from all over the world attend this school and it is a really good experience to meet them all.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition and financial aid is fantastic! You can always go to them if you are having problems or need information about how the radier one card works or what kind of financial aid you can get.

Campus Resources: My campus has a tutoring center in the library building. You can go there if you need help in one of your subjects or if you have a paper you are stuck on. I hear they are a lot of help.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The facilities are very good on campus. They have dorms you can live in on campus. The workers there are very helpful and kind. They have a library and a tutoring center if you need help with school work.

5 College Freshman

Campus Resources: The computer network always is up and running smoothly. I have never had a problem finding a computer to use or with the speed of the internet. We also have several printers where you can print papers. I have to pay for each sheet printed, but there is a machine to put money in and push print easy as that. It has broke down once, but the administration will let you print off of there printers.

Academic Flexibility: Three Rivers did a great job working around my schedule. They offer students to sign up for classes before new students enroll which lets you choose the times and days that work for your schedule. I went to Southeast Missouri State University before transferring to Three Rivers and they was able to transfer all my credits.
